What are four ways you can reduce the risk of back problems when using a computer?

Correct posture. Supportive chair. Monitor , keyboard and mouse at the optimum heights and finally regular breaks and stretching.

This is only general . The best way to really stop or alleviate back problems is to strengthen your core (stomach) muscles

I think i stopped my period about 6 to 7 weeks ago and i have a lot of symptoms zits back pain threw up light headed and more but the pregnant test said negative could i still be pregnant?

It is possible.. I would take a few more tests to be sure, though. And see your doctor. I would also think about what contraception you are using and if this is as effective as you think. Is there a high chance you could be pregnant due to that form of contraception 9if there was one.) Depending on your age/other factors it sounds as if your periods may just be irregular. Good luck!

Can knees cause lower back pain?

can knee problems cause back problems

yes i can but usually it wouldn't. If this happens apply an ice or heat pack for as longs as you feel necessary. If symptoms persist after 4-7 days you should see a doctor.

That would depend on the actual problem with the knee and the nerves that travel though it. If the "bad" knee changes your gate(the way you walk, it can upset the way weight is transferred to your lower back.

Back and neck pain?

Ask anyone suffering from neck pain and you'll hear that their pain is more than just a passing irritation. It can also cause related migraines, lower back pain, shoulder pain, loss of sleep, and stress. That's a lot to cope with and it's easy to conclude that there's one thing that must be done - banish neck pain once and for all.

With that in mind, the first place to start is your pillow.

Here's why.

The vertebrae in your neck are neatly positioned on top of each other; however, there's a natural curve to your neck. If viewed through an x-ray you could easily see this natural curve. The more your neck maintains this natural curve, the happier it is.

Since we sleep about one third of our life, it makes sense that you address the pillow you are sleeping on. Large, fluffy pillows prop up our neck and tend to flatten that natural curve in the neck. This ends up stretching some of the neck muscles and contracting others. When this type of muscle activity is kept up for hours on end, it results in neck pain. Sleeping on a large, fluffy pillow would be equivalent to tensing your biceps muscle for hours on end. How long can you make it before pain is experienced? Not too long!

What could a bump be at the back of your neck where your hairline ends to the right of your spine and causes neck and shoulder pain or strain on the right side?

It sounds like you have cervical subluxation. That means you have a cervical vertebra out of alignment. You should consult a chiropractor for evaluation and xrays. He or she should be able to properly diagnose and treat you.

Can lower stomach pain and lower back pain be a sign of pregnancy still 1 week to go before af due?

Yes could be. I had this signs a week before my period. But I knew i was pregnant even if the test was negative. My husband and I are trying to conceive for 2 years with our second child. So after 3 days of missed period i checked again and true enough i was pregnant. I also had spotting (Brown-red light discharge). Goodluck!

I am 33 weeks pregnant I am having weird pains dizziness and lower back pain and my vagina feels numb My pains are constant they never go away my doctor neglects me What should I do?

1) Trust your instincts. If you feel like something is wrong, it could be.

2) Get another doctor. if yours is not listening now, he won't be any better once you're in labor.

3) Go to the Emergency Room, if you feel like there is something wrong, don't contact your doctor first - tell the ER staff whatever you want about the situation with your doctor. It is your right to be seen by a different doctor.

Doctors are human, there are good ones and bad ones - if you think yours is not taking proper care of you, get one who will. (Don't wait until you are in labor.)

The baby maybe hitting your sciatic nerve, this could cause the low back pain, numbness and may even cause dizziness (from the pain). There are things that can help, if it is sciatica. But there are also other things that could cause these problems - you deserve to have answers and appropriate treatment.

At 36 weeks my doctor told me a big lie, I immediately knew I could not trust him. I got a new doctor the next day and never saw him again. This is a right we have as patients.

What military disability rating do you get for low back pain?

First of all, if you are still on active duty, you do not get disability. Disability is compensation because you cannot earn a living. You earn a living while on active duty. Therefore, the military does not give you disability rating. It is the VA's responsibility to determine your service related injuries once you separate or retire from active duty.

What could cause a knotted feeling on the right side back of your head that has lasted a month with only occasional stabs of pain every few days?

You should see a Chiropractor, they can take x-rays and determine if a spinal subluxation has caused this problem with your head. The spine and nerve endings effect every bodily function, if one thing is out of wack, then you will feel the effect of it.

Does pressure on the root nerve cause pain?

Pressure on the nerve root can definitely cause pain and it may also cause sensory and/or motor deficits.

Should I go Neurology Doctor for my low back pain?

This is strictly a personal opinion. I would consult an osteopathic physician (DO) -- NOT a chiropractor (DC) -- first, and then have her refer me as needed.

What is the best medication for lower back pain?

Vicodin or any other harsh pain medication. Medical marijuana is great for it though and is far less dangerous then any pill.

Simple massage and regular exercise for lower back keep the lower back pain away.

What causes you to get only a spot of blood then very bad stomach and back pains instead of your period the two months after starting the Cerazette Pill?

Hi, This could be caused by the Cerazette Pill, irregular period, the doseage being too low/high for you or even pregnancy. Best to see your doctor to rule out pregnancy and to see if it is indeed the pill causing this. If it is, then change your pill. Take care.

What could be wrong if your grandmother feels a tingly sensation from the lower back of her head to the end of her neck and it happens a couple of times a month but today her back and arms hurt too?

Now would be a good time to take her to a doctor. It's possible that it's nothing serious, it's also possible that it's a mild stroke. There are several possibilities... 1. If the pain begins at the hairline, about a quarter of the way between the midline and the ear, and when there is a lot of pain that "shoots" from that area and up into the scalp & same side of the head, it could be an occipital neuralgia (the patient usually has a lot of headaches on that side if the head). There is a nerve that exits from the base of the skull and traverses about half-way up the side of the scalp & head. If the nerve is inflamed, pushing on the areaa can cause the shooting pains up into the side of the head. IF this is it, a simple steroid injection (by a physician/PA) can solve the problem! If it is a spinal nerve compression in the neck, this could call for physical therapy and possible surgery, AFTER A COMPLETE NEUROLOGICAL WORKUP WITH MRI, ETC). Question here is, does the numbness travel down into the arm or hand?? Is there any wasting of the muscles in the arm/hand on the same side as the neck symptoms?? It could be something as simple as "myofascial disease" (trigger point). This is where the muscle and membranes that separate the muscle groups (like the white tough tissue that is on the outside of a tenderloin) becomes inflamed from a fall --or sudden stretch-- and the nerve that runs through that area also becomes inflamed. If you push on the 'sore' area, does the pain shoot down into the shoulder/neck area?? If so, this could be the "myofascial disease" as described above. The headaches that you describe above apparently involve the entire head & neck; these headaches are most likely a result of the upper back & neck "tension" & constant muscle tension in reaction to the pain she's been having. (Are they like a 'band' around her head??) Whatever it is, she'll certainly need to be evaluated by a properly trained professional (sorry... I don't personally feel a chiropracter should be involved with treating this type of problem unless it's been properly diagnosed and can be treated by physical therapy [Note: most younger chiropractors have been trained to know their limitations and after correctly diagnosing a surgical problem will recommend a neurosurgeon your grandmonter can see]. For an article on myofascial pain, see the website I recommended.

You are really scared you are about 4 weeks pregnant and have loer abdominal and back pain and had some light pink spotting this morning you have had this before and miscaridge at 8 weeks is it happen?

Just go to the docotor or ER right away, especially since you have already had a miscarriage. It could be a cervical change that can cause vaginal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding can also be a symptom of ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. Another cause for bleeding during pregnancy is a miscarriage although the first two reasons for bleeding are more common, it is still a good idea to contact your doctor.
