How do you prevent ingrown toenails if you are a dancer and dance en pointe?

Cutting them neatly and regularly will help but sometimes people are prone to them naturally.

I am a dancer and had ingrowing toe nails. I had to have them removed but it was fairly painless and there aren't usually any problems after it has been done.

Is there supposed to be a bump at your ankle area if you do ballet and don't quite have a good arch?

ballerinas don't have special bumps on their feet or anything they are not chosen by their feet type they have normal feet like any other person maybe a few blisters here and there in fact some dancers even have flat feet (they have no arch)

There is definatly NO CERTAIN GRADE, it depends on the strangth and tecnique the student has.

Genreraly students go on pointe when they reach Intermediate Foundation but this isn't a definite limit.

The student must be doing ballet for at least 3 years and doing 4 classes a week.

However you don't necessarily need to be flexible to start ballet. Improving flexibility is relatively easy compared to improving strength or extension or turnout.
