Depends on what you are charging and the output of the charger. That is why an automatic charger is always best. No chance of overcharging the battery.

Modern (Lithium ion and Metal Nickel Hydride) cell phone batteries have no "memory" problems like those that plagued Nickel Cadmium accumulators so you do not have to let the battery discharge fully before recharging them. However some modern battery chemistry does improve during the first few charge cycles so the full usefull duration is attained only after some (say 5) charge/uncharge cycles.
How do you connect a battery on a tractor?
1. Locate the tractor battery cables.
2. Follow each cable to where it connects to the tractor. One cable will be connected/attached to the tractor chassis/frame. The other cable will be connected/attached to the tractor starter motor. If you don't find this to be true, then discontinue this procedure now.
3. Connect the unconnected end of the cable that is connected to the starter motor to the "+" or "pos" battery post.
4. Connect the unconnected end of the other cable that is connected to the tractor chassis/frame to the "-" or "neg" battery post.
5. Snugly tighten the post connector nuts to ensure a firm/stable electrical connection.
Done. Your battery is now connected to your tractor properly.

Why does battery drain while driving?
There could be many reasons for this, and although I can't recall all of them, here are some possibilities.
The alternator, or generator if so equipped, is defective and not generating any charging current, or not enough.
Even if the alternator/generator is good and working, it is possible that the current does not get to the battery.
The drive belt is either slipping or missing altogether.
The wiring system has a defect which prevents current from a functioning alternator from getting to the battery.
IF the vehicle charging system has a separate voltage regulator, it could be defective.
Another possibility is that the battery is defective and will not accept a charge.

I had to have this done just yesterday, he had to go up under the drivers side wheel well and take off the the inside cover and turn the tire as far out as you can get it and then disconnect the wires to pull it out.
The battery for the 04 sebring is on the drivers side by the wheel well!lol
Im sure the only way to get at it is to take the tire off.Big pain

In the instructions it shows you the incorrect way to push the cover. Above the camera view window is a little arrow, Hold the phone with the back vertical to you and slide the cover down. If you are holding the phone horizontally then you are holding it incorrectly. A thanks to my 16 year old son for helping out!!
