I wish there was a bag you could get them into but it would be like herding cats.

The closest thing to a bag are mattress and pillow encasement's.

With any encasement you just trap the bedbugs inside it. They can't get out and they can't bite you but if you have bedbugs that are hiding in places other than your mattress & box springs the encasement's can't protect you from them. After having the covers on for up to 18 months the bedbugs and their offspring will have died so you must leave those covers on without taking them off for at least that long.

No. The two species Cimex Cimicidae and Cimex Hemiptera just have what are called hemelytra. These are just very short fore wings and they do not give the bedbug any capability of flying. If a bedbug visits you for a meal while you are asleep in your bed they get to you by crawling along your sheet and then on to your body although you will not usually feel anything when they have a blood meal off you, even if you wake up, because they inject a kind of anaesthetic into you before they sip your blood. So the whole area goes numb. Only after the anaesthetic effect has worn off some time after the bedbugs departure off you into its hiding place, will you start to itch and then often feel the need to scratch the part of you where it has been for its meal off you.

Stains on a mirror are normally on the back metallic surface and are not repairable.

Your cat is out of the bed bugs menu, so it will not bring home any bed bugs... it could bring tics, or fleas. That you need to be looking out for. The fleas are removed easily with a flea collar, cats don't respond too well to other medication methods. The tics on the other hand, since they take a while to get attached to the cat and suck on it's blood, will fall off the cat into your house, and find some other living thing to latch on to. So don't worry about the bed bugs, they don't care for animals.

Basically, you can thoroughly vacuum your bed (removes the bugs and the skin cells they feed on) and wash all bedding in hot water. Do this weekly or more often and the problem should resolve itself. Make sure you change the vacuum cleaner bag after each vacuuming and put it into the outside trash.

They can be difficult to get rid of even well after getting rid of the bedbug problem. It is likely most of the stains will be of your blood which the bedbugs has consumed from you when you were asleep and they often deposit small amounts of their meals after leaving you on the way back from your body to their hiding place as they like using people's beds as a lavatory as well as banquet hall. So there will probably be some blood stains on your sheets, usually mixed in with evil smelling excrement. It is also likely to be on your mattress. to get rid of it you will need to first re soak each stain. You can best do by putting the stained bedding it in a basin of cold water, and then scrub it hard using your finger or knuckles. Once you have got the worst off then put the bed linen into your washing machine and a boil wash with a strong detergent should hopefully shift the rest. There may also be stains on your carpet near your bed and on the walls and bed structure. Carpet cleaner 1001 may shift the stains on your carpet and I have found ordinary table salt works quite well but you may have to scrape vigorously with a knife. This also works well on bedbug stains on the walls.

If there is a hole a bed bug can get through the plastic. If the plastic is sealed completely they can not get in. Bedbugs are masters of hiding in objects if a house is infested they can even be in the electronics.

I believe studies show that parts of the neem tree are antifungal, antiseptic, repellent to insects, and also disruptive of insect reproduction...among other things. So neem freshly applied (oil, leaves) will repel and may help kill them off.

Keep in mind though, that repelling bedbugs should be used along with methods to contain and kill them, or they will scatter and infest a wider area, and maybe eventually return.

Foodgrade, freshwater diatomaceous earth is available at some garden supply stores and is an effective dessicant for all insects. It kills them gradually (2-12 days) by degrading their exoskeletons. Most insects will walk through a very light dusting but avoid a thick layer; so an unbroken thick layer can be used for windows, doorways, and the perimeters of rooms, plus inside any opening (electrical etc) or crack in walls or floors.

Get the right kind of d.e. (freshwater, foodgrade); other kinds are hazardous. Note there are products that contain ingredients you do not need (i.e. pesticides that don't even work on bed bugs.) And don't breathe d.e.

Heat, freeze, and/or thoroughly clean (rubbing alcohol, mineral oil, bleach) all the nooks and crannies of everything you can in your home, then bag whatever clean items you can (laundry, toys, etc.) airtight for as long as you can stand it. The difficulty is that eggs take awhile to hatch, and bugs may hide anywhere and live for at least a year if not longer and come out to reinfest. D.e. should keep working if it's still sitting there dry.

You need to wash clothing (preferably on hot) and dry it (preferably on hot). Hot wash/dry will kill all bed bug stages and eggs.

Experts say you can also use dry cleaning but make sure the dry cleaner uses traditional methods (PERC) NOT newer, "green" methods which may not kill bed bugs.

Also, if you go to a laundromat or dry cleaner, do not take your infested clothing there unless sealed in an airtight plastic bag.

Hi currently going through this myself, im glad to have the answer, wash the curtains at 60 degrees (c), then tumble dry on low-medium heat for 20 minutes, or get them dry cleaned, Am concerned that you have the bed- bugs on your curtains, as this is not where they wish to live, breed, and hide! Are you sure they're bed-bugs?? Cos as the name suggests they are 'bed-bugs' and that is pretty much they're whole world! Either your'e misinformed to 'what' you have, or the 'bed-bug' situation has become so out of control, its an infestation(!) and they're on your curtains, book shelves, dressing table, wooden jewellry boxes and cunningly and invisibly hidden in all the cracks, joints and splits of the wood on your bed!. Hope you've been misinformed and its a damn sight easier to get rid of these, parasites than I believed, with the use of a reputable pest control company. I just found a bug like that you have mentioned and after looking online it appears to be a silverfish. For either bedbugs or silverfish you want to call an exterminator if you see a lot. While the silverfish don't bother human beings they do damage to books, curtains...
