'Blankets are a single layer of fabric - usually woven. They are a little larger than the size of the mattress.
Throws are small blankets, less than twin size; they do not cover the bed. They are more for covering the individual during naps or when sitting in a chair
I always thought throws where a decorating cover but I was wrong, they can be used for snuggling up or making your sofa/bed to look nice.

I had one stored for a couple of years and then shipped it. First, I wish I had put a really good mattress cover on it (not just a light plastic one, which rips) so that it would have been kept clean. We stored it on its side, rather than laying it down flat. To ship it, we bought a mattress box from a local moving company (not a moving store) for about $12. However, it was too narrow for the 10" mattress, so we ended up adding cardboard to extend the width. Tape the addition on the inside of the box to help it hold its shape.

I believe a Hollywood bed is narrower than a standard twin size. I bought a "Hollywood High Riser Daybed" many years ago, and its mattresses are only 32" wide while a regular twin mattress is 39" wide. The length is about the same as a standard twin. When the two are placed together, they are about the width of a queen size bed.
