there are many good things about biofuel. here is a list:

1. it can be used on any diesel engine, with little or no modifications.

2. it is carbon neutral, because just as much CO2 that goes into making it comes out when burned.

3. it is cleaner than fossil diesel, because there is no sulfur in it; unlike fossil fuels.

4. you can go longer on a gallon of biofuel (or fossil diesel) than with gas or ethonal.

5. unlike ethonal or hydrogen, the infrastructure for transport is already there.

6. a lot less energy goes into making biofuel than ethonal or hydrogen.

but there is a con:

the plants that produce biofuel must be grown on fertile soil, and produces very little fuel per acre. that will change, however, with algae oil and jatropha oil, because both are inedible, can be grown just about anywhere, and produce a lot of fuel per acre.

Liquid biofuel will burn in much the same as fossil fuel oil, so it will even run the same power stations. The simplest form of electricity generation is to use steam to turn a turbine which generates electricity. Biofuel is thus used to boil water into steam.

Biofuel is made from vegetation and vegetable oil. This is easily renewed when more plants are grown. This should not be at the expense of food production.

I accidentally used low sulfur diesel in my kersoene heater on its first use and it worked without incident. The flames stayed in the "too low" range and produced a slight odor while burning, but nothing seemingly dangerous.

It is very unlikely that adding traditional petroleum diesel to a tank with biodiesel already in it would cause any problems. Remember, all diesel engines are designed to work with the traditional petroleum diesel fuel that you propose putting in the tank. They should work just fine. However, I can think of one instance when it "might" cause a problem. If the traditional petroleum diesel was very cold -- say 10 degrees (F) but was still liquid because of some winterizing additives -- that could cause the bio portion of the biodiesel in the tank to gel. The reason for this is that many of the vegetable oils used to produce biodiesel will gel slight quicker than traditional diesel fuel. So, this is a possibility but fairly unlikely. If you live in a warm climate then do not worry about it.

Alcohol, ethanol, methanol. It's from the fermentation of plants, so it's available anywhere.

The first step in making a good bio dome is to find a clear plastic container. Next, secure the bottom of the container to the ground. Make sure plants are not reaching the top of the dome. Lastly, regulate the moisture and condensation inside the dome.

Biodiesel is, amongst other things, made from disused or waste frying oil.

So anything that is cooked or prepared in a deep fryer might be contributing to biodiesel.

But not all waste oil is collected for biodiesel processing.

Diesel and kerosene are quite close chemically. Kerosene has some heavier paraffins and would clog the injectors of a diesel engine.

Any of the crops which are considered oilseeds. Soybeans, sunflowers, canola, rape, and safflower are all examples.

Ran mine (02) fine for 20000 miles on good quality bio without obvious problems.

When supplier changed, who used palm oil in manufacture, problems started. Constant clogging up of filters. Eventually the high pressure pump started leaking, dripping onto fan belt and throwing it off. it is possible to get biodiesel seals for the pump though.

All in all more trouble than its worth but was good while it lasted.

Yes, biofuel, like biodiesel, will run in diesel engines. Many ships have diesel engines run on fossil fuel diesel and they will easily run on biofuel.

It's only an opinion so make it up yourself

I think biomass is better. It gets rid of trash that is filling the landfills. It is also renewable. Biomass energy uses energy crops that aren't food to any animals, so they're not being hurt in the process. It reduces pollution and global warming. The downside is is that biomass can be expensive and it still lets out quiet a bit of pollution.

We're working on it, but it takes time and resources to develop.

Yes, You just unscrew the top of the bio oil, place the bottle on a stand or table, along with the top. You unscrew the cream top and do the same then mix it up baby cakes! (:

Fuel is not made from biomass. Biomass is a fuel, usually waste vegetation of some kind, like bagasse, which is the remains of sugar cane after the sugar has been removed.

Biogas, and biofuel like ethanol, are also made from vegetation or from animal manure (which is usually rotting vegetable matter).

Biofuel is organic, cheap, good for the environmet, and made from plants grown here in the US. Biodiesel is recycled oil that can be used to run cars and plains but it is not organic and the reproduction is not good for the environment at all and can be a bit more expensive. All in all they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Biofuel doesn't grow anywhere, it comes from plants that have the characteristics and compounds that enable them to be used for biofuel. Such plants include corn, canola, sunflowers, and rapeseed.
