It may be that your headset is not fully charged. Please make sure that both cell phone and headset are fully charged. Delete the headset off your phone. Once that has been done please follow the instructions for pairing again. Sometimes if the headset does not flash the red/blue while the phone is searching you may have to try again.

I read all the negatives about the Mercedes Bluetooth puck. Very few phones were compatible and most of those would not allow upload of the phone's contact list. We have three phones and 2/3 would not work.

I searched all over the place and found a company called Autotronics (www.autotronics.com) which offers for $249 a plug-compatible that seems to work with most anything. They were very price competitive, the part is literally plug-in 5 seconds install (open the console, pop off the plastic cover, plug this thing in). It is a quality look & feel part. It seems to work with anything (We have a Droid, a BB, and an iPhone). There are two possible interfaces in the car and their web site has a nice set of photos to identify which you have.

Once I plugged it in, I pushed the button on the puck to start pairing, followed the Bluetooth search menu on the phone (about 3 steps), and it was a total of about 5 minutes (no crap) start to finish and I was up and running.

Bluetooth is wireless technology. Factors such as walls can get in between the printer and the computer, thus making the bluetooth wireless connection wearer. It's kinda like a cellphone and a tower. If you are inside your house you'll get a weaker signal than if you're outside standing right next to the tower. There isn't a specific answer to your question. Just an estimate. The standard is about 33 feet.

naa mate u have the same laptop as me! and the laptop is a standard shape to many different insides ( the electronics ) and the light on the outside is just there because its cheaper to make 1 type of case than 2 types...... the processor or something doesnt support bluetooth!

Yes you can pair it but you wont be able to make any use of it.

Ask your provider. they will help you. Generally you would do this: * Find the menu option on your phone for pairing with a Bluetooth device. * Set your Bluetooth device in Discoverable mode (often by holding down a button until a light flashes in alternating colors). * From your phone's menu, tell the phone to recognize pairable devices. * When the device is found, confirm that it's the right one, and say go. * If you are asked for a code, enter "0000" (four zeroes). * Follow any other related menu steps involving turning on the Bluetooth connection. # Step 1 Familiarize yourself with the headset. You should find the "Talk" and "Noise Shield" buttons on the outside of the unit. The earloop and earbud connect on the inside of the unit. The voice activity sensor is on the opposite side of the earbud on the inside of the headset. # Step 2 Pair Jawbone with your Bluetooth enabled phone. Place the Jawbone headset close to your phone. You also can plug the USB cable into a computer and charge your Jawbone with a computer. Charge your Jawbone completely before your first use.

Best in what? If you mean home routers, then D-Link, since Cisco does not have a home product (Linksys, while a Cisco subsidiary, is NOT a Cisco product; Its like saying a Lexus LS460 and a Toyota Corolla are the same car since they're owned by Toyota). If you're comparing D-Link enterprise grade switches to Cisco products, Cisco has superior support, performance and reliability. If you have an issue with a Cisco product, a call to Cisco will put you to a knowledgeable support engineer who will most likely be able to fix your issue on the spot. If not, the engineering staff is located in the USA, and they have a rapid response team to resolve these issues rather quckly. Mind you Cisco charges an arm and a leg for their service, but they have the biggest R&D budget of any networking company. Period. Plus, there are thousands of Cisco certified professionals who can help you out via web forums. D-Link's core engineering is done in Asia. I've heard that their firmware updates take longer to be released. Support isn't nearly as good or extensive. But its a lot cheaper, and performance isn't bad. In the end of the day, if your job is on the line and reliability is key, go with Cisco. As the saying goes, nobody ever got fired for buying Cisco.

**As a prior technical support trainer for D-Link I would have to disagree with the response to enterprise products. You should only go to Manila when you are a home user. Enterprise product support should always get you to a technician in Clovis, CA or Fountain Valley, CA.

As well I think any admin would agree that prudent planning is your key defense against variables. I was always taught even in school when implementing a switch "Rule #1 Always have a 2 week burn in period" (This is where the switch is on and running with traffic flowing. However the switch is not live on the network).

My other slice of advise is, prior to doing anything! Once you have that bad boy out of the box go to Dlink's support site and get the latest Boot Loader and Firmware. Then upgrade that bad boy to the latest versions. If you do your burn in period with no traffic expect about 2-3 switch restarts due to lock-ups over the course of the 2 weeks once live, other wise these will happen during your burn in phase if your are sending traffic threw them. After that they should run until the day you day. Also since Dlink has a lifetime warranty (and trust me they honor it!) I would purchase 1 additional backup unit per model series on your network. That way if something ever goes down you can swap out the switch, RMA the old one and put the RMA unit into surplus when returned to you. (this should be easy to get threw finance since you will be saving them an arm and a leg on overall HW cost and power consumption.)
