How much borrowed text from a report constitutes plagiarism?

There is no fixed amount of content borrowed that indicates whether you have bordered the line of plagiarism. However, every piece of information borrowed whether it being a great piece of information or something minuscule and insignificant you used in your assignment MUST be cited (inter-referenced and referenced). This means that you can use an endless amount of borrowed information putting it into your own words as long as you inter-reference each sentence and as for taking a sentence word for word, it is generally averaged at two sentences per paragraph. Also keep in mind that the 'introduction' as well as the conclusion should be mainly your opinion of the topic hence it should be in your words.

Below is an example of an introduction to an essay on 'Funeral Blues' and how to inter-reference a paragraph.

"Funeral Blues" was written by English poet Wystan hugh Auden. The poem was originally written during the inter-war period whereby major political movements were made and then later re-written, as song IX in Two songs for Hedli Anderson, (Mendelson, 5). Due to the fact that numerous writers such as 'George Orwell', who wrote Animal Farm, and other well-known poets during the time of the inter-war period, experimented with satire, it could imply to us that "funeral Blues" was written as that of political satire; conveying messages of moral and political issues while mocking the politicians' declamatory style, (Yemenici 3-4).

Does the Bible say you should do good to those who hurt you?

Matthew 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. Luke 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

This is commonly referred to as 'turning the other cheek' and is understood as weakness by those who are self-assertive and do not have the humble Christian spirit. Indeed the whole modern attitude, at least in the 'western' cultures is to push oneself forward. There was also plenty of this in Jesus' own day, as evidenced by some of what He had to say against the Pharisees. So, yes, the Bible does teach this, Jesus specifically, although the idea is also contained in Proverbs 25:21-22 with this concept also being quoted by Paul in Romans 12:20. 20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

What is the theme summary of The Spider's Thread?

Venice.............

In my reading, the story The Spider's Thread has three themes. First, at its basic level, it talks about the cold-heartedness of the central character, Kandata, which practically reinforce what some scholars would say as the usual theme of Ryunosuke in almost all, if not all, of his works, that is the darker side of man. Second, it talks about man's pursuit of "paradise," and lastly, the wide gap of the two kinds of people found in society-the powerful or the dominant ones and the weak or the lesser ones, of which, I think, is the general theme of the story.

To begin with, the usual theme of the author is depicted in this particular story. The descriptions given to the central character and to hell are pieces of proof of this. Kandata, on one hand, is pictured as a murderer and robber, among others, showing the evil tendencies and capabilities of man. On the other hand, hell, being Kandata's final destination after life, is given an equally gloomy and pitiful description, a place of complete darkness and utter chaos that even the most savage and merciless among the lot cannot last a minute longer; if only to be consistent with the dominating atmosphere in the story.

Furthermore, man's "pursuit of paradise," is another theme to delve into. Paradise being man's resting place or final stop after his long journey, labor, and hardship on Earth. The opening lines of the story give emphasis to this, for each line talks about the beauty and magnificence of paradise, as if inviting man to be, indeed, there. The thread being lowered, too, is quite significant in pursuing this theme. It somehow suggests that the Greater Being above welcomes man, if man chooses to be there, that is if man does benevolent deeds.

Lastly, is the wide gap between two beings-the Buddha and Kandata-emphasized in the story, the Buddha, who dwells in "paradise," being the powerful being and Kandata, who dwells in "hell," being the lesser being. Of which can be likened to the real context and situation of society today, that the ones situated above are the very people who decide the fate of the ones situated below. Suggestive of this is, again, the lowering of the thread from "paradise" to "hell." The thread further suggests that the people from below only have that slim and thin chance of reaching the point where only the select few enjoy. However, if and when that slim and thin chance is reached, the powerful simply cuts the thread, leaving the ones who climb the thread to whirl rapidly down, back to where they started: Hell.

What are the major conflicts in Inheritance?

If you are refering to the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini the largest conflict revolves around the Varden and the Empire, however there is the conflict between Eragon and Murtagh over the later's betrayal. There is conflict between Nasuada and Orrin over how best to lead the Varden. There is also the personal conflict between Eragon/Saphira and Galbatorix/Shuriken.

If you are refering to inheritance as one individual inheriting over another, the conflict is between the main heir and any other heirs wishing to take advantage of their rights.
