Well... firstly... why did you break up with your ex-boyfriend? and secondly... if you kissed him purposely then it means that you still like him... but if you kissed him accidentally well then that was an accident...

I am in the current situation, But I guess it depends on what type of person your ex is, Are you sending him messages or are you ringing or both?? I would leave it for now, you don't want to come across as some obssesed ex who can't let go, maybe send him a message saying that you would like to remain friends but don't tell him that you miss him or that you love him, just send a message/phone call as you would any other friend. If he still won't reply/answer then just wait a while don't keep sending messages or ringing that will just drive him further away & if you want to remain his friend then you got to play it cool. But if that fails then I say forget this guy (easier said than done I know) I have been broken up with my ex for a while & we use to speak but it stopped and only recently we have made contact again.. but you have to treat this person as just a 'mate' nothing more... I know it can be hard cause there are so many things you want to say but you have to hold back.... Good luck with it...
