What happened to the Trix Rabbit?

Nothing happened, as far as we know. According to the General Mills website, both the cereal and the mythical rabbit still exist. Perhaps you no longer see commercials for Trix as much as you used to, but that is mostly because cereal companies vary the products that they advertise. Given that the Trix rabbit has been around since 1957, you may again see General Mills giving Trix an advertising buy at some future point; and the rabbit may once again be a part of the commercial.

Why has tv reception been changed to digital?

In digital there is a signal threshold below which dropout (pixelation) occurs. When an analogue signal degrades the picture just gets 'snowy'. However, digital reception which is running alongside analogue is at quite a low level to prevent interference with the analogue channels and appears more susceptible to weather interference. When the analogue signals are turned off the digital signal is boosted to give maximum coverage and will deliver a better service all round.

Why does the cable tv work but cable internet does not?

Because cable TV runs on a different frequencies than cable Internet. Or you haven't paid your bill and the last thing to get shut down is the cable. The company can shut down the Internet remotely but need to manually disconnect your cable. Or the most simple one. The first question a costumer service representative will ask you when you call. Have you tried unplugging your modem or reset it. To reset it there is usually a small hole on the back of the modem. You need a pin or tooth-pick to place in the hole to reset. MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DEVICE FIRST FOR SAFETY!

Can you make trigger adjustments on a Marlin 30-30?

No, the triggers on 336 and other Marlin lever actions have no adjustments built in. Some gunsmiths and owners have worked over their triggers to make them better, but most just let them wear in. Aftermarket trigger springs, and mainspring kits are available from places like Wild West Guns, or Dave Clay, to make the trigger feel better. Sometimes this leads to lighter strikes, or misfires, so it's trial and error process. Hope this helps.

Is multichannel SACD sound better than SACD stereo?

As a loyal SA-CD listenere, I would like to tackle this one....

First off, SACD was developed as not only a Stereo format, but one of the advantages that was pushed was the concept of Surround Sound.

SACD is capable of deliviring 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 5.1 Surround Sound.

Strangely, a kind of debate has occured in the SA-CD community as to which sounds better, the stereo track or the surround track. Some feel that stereo is superior while others are more impressed with surround sound. Go to www.sa-cd.net and you can find differeing opinions on which speaker configuration people prefer.

Myself, I prefer Surround Sound. I feel there is a greater depth and realism with surround sound and more air around the sound as well. I listen to primarily classical recordings and this is where SA-CD shines, particularly if the recording was made in modern DSD sound.

Something unexpected has happened though. Manufacturers who make high end expensive SACD players are making them for stereo only and are not including multichannel playback capability. Many people still cling to stereo recording, I beilieve, because they somehow think that multichannel playback is some kind of gimmick.

If Multichannel recordings are a gimmick, then why do companies like Pentatone in Europe make magnificent Multichannel recordings? Are they wasting their time?

Hardly. Multichannel sound offers, in my opinion and in the opinion of many other listeners, greater depth, openness and realism than stereo.

I think the reason why many still cling to stereo setups is simply out of ignorance. They are not interested in surround and simply repudiate it. They probably do not want to go to the extra expense and trouble of setting up a surround system. Their is a kind of "elitism" amongst stereo listeners. They are firmly convinced that stereo is the very best way to listen to music and that it is the only way. They simply repudiate any possibility of surround sound being worthwhile.

This has created a problem for shoppers like myself. I find it extremely difficult to find high end players that offer multichannel playback capability in North America.

Why does SA-CD have Multichannel playback capability then? Should I simply remove the multichannel layer from each of my discs then? (if that were possible).

The truth is that everyone's ears are different. As much as there are those who see SA-CD Stereo as the only possible way to listen to music, others see the advantages of both stereo and surround and have an open mind to its possibilities and advantages.

Sadly, this does not make it any easier when buying hardware. Getting a high quality surround player can be most difficult.

Finally as to which is better, it all comes down to a matter of taster. My complaint is that lack of high quality multichannel hardware. More manufacturers should consider that there are those of us who enjoy SA-CD and want multichannel playback in a machine. Our opinon counts just as much as those who prefer stereo.

Finally, if you are looking to listen to multichannel playback and want to demo an SA-CD player, make sure you use an SPL meter, (Sound pressure level) meter and a good tune up SA-CD like Stay in Tune with Pentatone and balance the speakers. You may not get the best results out of the system otherwise.

Happy listening and insist on more equipment that can provide stereo as well as multichannel playback!

Could a BNC Female to F-Type Coax Male Adapter be used to connect a game console to a TV through a coax cable jack?

If you are using the output of an RF modulator (which is not built in to any current gaming console), you can use many different adapters to attach a signal to the coax cable jack. What you cannot do is use a signal that is a RCA composite or component video output from a game console to attach to the coax cable jack. You will need an external RF modulator to generate a signal to appear on channel 3 or 4 of the TV.

If you have a 3 wire RCA cable with an s-video cable do you have to use the s-video cable?

No, you can use the VIDEO cable instead and just let the S-CABLE hang loose but the S-Connector/Cable will give a better picture so use it if you can.

How do you format a Sony trinitron tv without remote?

Every TV manufacturer that I'm aware, has buttons on the front of the set which will duplicate the functions of the remote control. You could probably start with the `menu' button and then take it from there. But that is not true at least with with Sony Trinitron. The only buttons are "demo", "tv/video", "volume", "channel", "power".
