Why does ice melt faster in water not in soda?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The melting of ice occurs when it's molecules increase in kinetic energy, thus causing a change in it's state of matter. This process is not instantaneous, though it speeds up when thermal energy is added, as thermal energy and kinetic energy are very similar and both involve an increase of molecular speed. It all depends on how quickly the surrounding variables are willing to allow energy conveyance.

Difference between ginger soda and ginger ale?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Ginger ale and ginger beerIf you are talking about the soft drinks (soda, pop, etc.), the carbonated beverages that contain no alcohol, then there is no difference. Both are flavored with ginger (or artificial ginger flavorings) and sweetened with sugar, corn syrup, or artificial sweeteners.

Authentic ginger beer is an alcoholic beverage that was very popular in the 19th century and early 20th century but and fell out of favor in the U.S. during Prohibition. It never made much of a comeback after Prohibition's repeal.

The original recipe requires ginger (often from Jamaica), sugar, and water to which ginger beer plant (GBP) is added. GP is a mixture of yeast and bacteria, called SCOBY and causes to different forms of fermentation to occur. Fermentation over a few days turns the mixture into ginger beer.

Look on the back of the can or bottle and there will a 'nutrition facts' label. That will tell you it's: calories 140 or so fat-0, carbohydrates-LOTS, protein-0 content(in grams), saturated fat-0, sugars-LOTS, sodium, vitamin content(usually 0 or very little) also there should be an 'ingredients' or 'contents' list that consists of lots of types of sugars, chemicals, preservatives, and other stuff that is hardto pronounce. Basically.......very little or nothing good/ healthy, and lots of: calories in the form of simple, fast -acting sugars described by words ending in "ose" or "oce" like fructose,sucrose..etc, flavor and unknown chemicals.
