Causes for African grey to pluck feathers?
Well, usually an African Grey may pluck its feathers because it is bored (they do tend to get bored of toys, which could be why it would be bored, all birds do). Or it may be stressed, you do have to spend lots of time with African Greys or they will pull their feathers out. If none of this advice helps, you might want to ask a vet.
Are duck eggs fertilized before or after being laid?
All eggs that have a hard or semi hard shell are fertilized before being laid.
Is it OK to put two female parakeets in one cage?
Yes. A male and a female cockatiel would be best to share a cage. If you put two males or two females together, they may fight. You don't have to worry about a male and a female breeding if they are in the same cage. Cockatiels won't breed unless there is a nesting box attached to the cage.
How do you tell if a budgies is a girl or a boy?
you can't tell the sex of a budgie as a baby unless you DNA test it ( which i wouldn't suggest and would probably be a waste of money and time )
even a vet couldn't tell the sex of a baby budgie...
but when they are older boy budgies have blue crests (the part above their beak) and girls are brown or a pink colour.
parrots will accept meat, but that does not mean it is good for them. their primary diet should consist of fruits, seeds/nuts, veggies and appropriate parrot pellets. herbs and some chilli peppers are also a good idea to prevent bactierial infections. because they do not typically eat meat in the wild, i would not recommend giving it to them.
(added) This was found on the internet from someone that is an expert in African Grey Parrots in response to a question about parrots eating meat:
A parrot can have anything humans eat that is HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS, except chocolate (baker's chocolate actually, but all chocolate has caffeine), caffeine, sugar (limit), salt (limit), avacado, citrus seeds...check internet for more. Chicken BONES (the meat is OK, but not the chicken skin) are good because the parrots eat the bone marrow, which is highly nutritious (turkey, etc., bones, too). I don't know about crab claws, but as long as they are nutritious and the bird will eat it, no problem! Some of my parrots like shrimp. I give my parrots chicken leg bones and they love them!
-- There has also been things mentioned on the internet that parrot will eat small insects in the wild.
How can you tell the sex of a lovebird?

Arthropods, bird eggs, and small birds and lizards in the case of the genus Henicopernis and bee, hornet, and wasp larvae as well as small mammals in regard to the genus Pernis are what honey buzzards eat. The common name is misleading because predation focuses upon honey-makers, not honey.
Are parakeets cold blooded or warm blooded?
i think it is cold, because... budgies are not as feirce as a lion, snake (ect)
A sugar glider can eat dried fruit, but should noteat dried fruit. The fruit sugars are too concentrated, without any natural water to dilute the high levels.
Sugar gliders are not made to be pets, and if one mustkeep one of these delicate creatures in a tiny cage, restricting its freedom, one should at least endeavour to keep its diet as natural as possible.
Do only male budgies have blue on their beaks?
my budgie is female.
its better to get a male because they're more friendly and they are more likely to talk.
To tell them apart older males have dark blue ceres and females have pinkish brown ceres
young males have light purplish ceres and young females have light blue ceres with white rings around the flares(nostrils)
Can parakeets eat salmon cream cheeze?
I don't recommend it because it wouldn't be good for their digestive systems and could probably get very sick.
See the Related Links below for a website that has good health tips for parakeets.
When you are talking about fish, ( e.g. catfish and carp) it refers to the fact that they feed off what has settled on the lake or stream bed. This has been said to make their flesh not as tasty to humans. It also makes their flesh higher in metals and chemicals that can be bad for us, so it is not good to eat too much of them - unless they are farm raised. When you are referring to a person, it is a derogatory epitaph indicating the person is disgusting.
Can you get a pet rabbit if you have pet birds?
I got a budgie because they don't get sick as easily, the cost is less, they live longer (budgies can live up to 30 years or more). You can teach them to fly to your hand, to fetch, to play dead, to slide down a slide, etc. They can also bathe themselves.

What country do parakeets live in?
There are several different species of conure, all of which have different natural ranges. In general, conure species can be found living wild from Mexico down to the southern regions of South America. There used to be a conure species native to the United States, called the Carolina Parakeet, but it was hunted to extinction in the early 20th century. At the moment, there are feral (the descendants of escaped pet birds) conure colonies living in many cities in the United States and even some of the southern parts of Canada. The book and documentary film "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill" tells about a feral conure colony in San Francisco.
Firstly, there is no actual species of bird called a "parakeet". The term "parakeet" is a generalised term to cover numerous species of smaller, long-tailed parrots, such as budgies, cockatiels and lorikeets.
To answer the question: yes, these small parrot can hear very well. All birds have acute hearing - it is part of their necessary survival strategy.
How do you know when a budgie is about to lay?
Budgies are birds, not mammals. They do not have the same kind of reproductive cycle as mammals. Budgies do not menstruate or have periods. It's not like having an un-spayed female dog or cat that goes into heat occasionally.
Wild budgies are what are called opportunistic breeders. They will seek a mate whenever there are enough resources to support offspring. In captivity, a properly cared for budgie will always feel that she has enough resources to have babies. This is why it is important not to house budgies of different sexes together unless you are prepared for the possibility of chicks.
Even without being housed with males, a female budgie will sometimes produce an (unfertilized) egg. Budgies don't have the same genetics or diet as domestic chickens, and excessive egg laying can cause serious health problems including calcium deficiency and egg-binding. You should consult an avian veterinarian for more information about budgie reproduction.
