yes the little buggers come out when the lights are on. if you see them wandering in the light that means they are very hungry and are willing to chance it for some food.

you should bring it home and feed it puppy/kitten formula every 2 hours and at night. After finding partially or totally eaten mice in one trap location, I set a slightly larger spring trap with raw hamburger bait. I caught a MOLE today. The location is totally dark and has been used by mice as an entry point into the house. The mole had been feeding on caught mice for about a month.

They have pink tails. Domestic mice may have white fur, but undomesticated mice usually have gray or brown fur.

Contrary to the previous answer, not all domesticated mice are white.You can get grey/white & even black domesticated mice.They are not exclusively white Albinos.

When a mouse screams it is either yelling at the other mouse or crying in pain or fear -- it may have been bitten or overpowered in the fight. As soon as a male mouse is "adult" it will show large testicles. And if you keep male and female mice together it will mate right away. Female mice are harder to tell with, but if it is an adult male mice will mate with it as well. Female mice so intro estrus every 24 hours or so unless they are pregnant. separate them as soon as possible unless you are breeding them, I once ended up with a litter of fifteen mating and a LOT of baby mice, really quick.

if it is really young like o-6 days then it wont be able to hear or see. from about 3-4 days fur should start to grow.

if its pink, has no fur, and its eyes are sealed shut its a mouse that's less than 1 week old its eyes open on day 14. it needs to be fed kitten formula/puppy formula every 2 hours even at night. it should be kept warm under a heat lamp or on a WARM surface NOT HOT.

Do not use a heat lamp. It's too much heat and light. The best bet you have is to consult a vet, feed it diluted kitten formula every two hours or so, not any longer than two hours apart.

Of course you can but its gonna be about the same price it was to fix your dog if not more because its so hard to operate on such a small animal not only that but you have to find a vet that is actually willing to do it.

then of course there is the waiting game to see how your rat took the surgery in some cases they don't do too well with (any surgery) and wont make it. its very hard on their little bodies.

This will depend upon what type of mouse you have. If the baby is a wild mouse, the best option will be to leave it alone - either the mother will come back and take care of it, or it will die quickly. Wild mice can be aggressive and carry numerous diseases including plague, hantavirus and Salmonella - they do pose a health risk to humans, particularly those with compromised immune systems, and shouldn't be picked up as pets or as rescues.

If the baby is a captive-bred mouse, you can try feeding it with diluted kitten or puppy milk replacer (dilution will depend upon the formula and the age of the mouse pup). You'll also need to provide water and a sheltered nest, possibly with auxillary heat source. It is unusual for a mother mouse to reject a pup unless there is something wrong with it or the pup isn't thriving; if this happens with more than one pup, I would suggest not breeding this mouse again.

Okay I used to have a hamster soo this should be pretty easy lol. Answer: A medium sized cage with 2 floors and a wheel for excericse,some tubes ( this is optional), and a lil home like part that it can HIDE into to go to sleep. I don't know about rats but baby rabbits are born with no fur and with their eyes closed. They start to get fur at 3 days of age and open their eyes at 10 days. They are from 2 1/2 inches to 6 inches long when they are born depending on breed.

^Not everyone has heard a mouse or rat, and you need to show some respect. What if the person asking is younger than you?

Baby mice should be fed by their mothers until they are ready to start eating solid foods, which they do on their own terms. Until then, just make sure the mother has a ready supply of seeds and regularly has other foods available to eat - enough to cater for her and her baby, because she's got to make the milk.

Water?

Depends on the weather if its hot they can drink quite bit.

Its better to put lots of water out (if its a pet) because if its an older mouse they are prone to decease and some symptoms of the deceases are drinking more, so its all ways good to have lots of water to keep your mouse happy and healthy.

You can give a rat milk but I do not recomend this as I have been told by the Vet I use for my 4 mice that mice and rats cannot digest milk properly and that the best liquid for them is water and only water as this rehydrates them properly.

If it is a fine screen mesh or something like that, yes. If it is a hard metal like thick bars on a cage or a metal plate, no. Basically, you don't want to house them in an aquarium with a screen top or something like that because they will chew through the top and escape. You can, however, put them in a cage with metal bars that are 1" or smaller in spacing.

their pee is what stinks, male mice smell more because they use their urine to scent mark whereas female mice urinate to empty their bladder like humans. I had a male mouse and every now and then I used to wash him to freshen him up.....I now have two female mice who don't need washing.... If you are considering getting a male mouse, he will scent mark the same areas in his cage so maybe change the bedding and sawdust once a week but in the area where he marks, change it daily, just be prepared as soon as you clean it he will go there again!!

If a Gerbil is glossy and is growing fur then you are feeding it enough. Usually gerbils are happy if they have a mate or companion in the same cage and are provided regularly with food. Gerbils often respond to music and I have found with my Gerbils that they enjoy classical music with a woman singing. You can tell if they are relaxed if they are half closing their eyes. I own a gerbil. When he is happy he seems to squeak a lot. Also, he/she may get hyper and run and jump a lot. also if you hold it believe it or not gerbils purr you cant see it or hear it but you cant feel it
