well my cat did her name was nalla she was white and yellow light yellow aroung her ears. on 12/18/08 she died she got killed by some wild dogs we have around our house Cats like texture. They will find a blanket or rug or couch that has the texture that they like. One of our cats has a specific blanket she likes. Doesn't matter where the blanket is, that's the one she wants. Dogs and cats have different responses to fear and pleasure. When dogs are happy they wag their tails. Cats purr when they are happy. When dogs are scared they growl. Cats also growl when they are scared.

If the 9 year old boy or girl is active you should maybe get it a Border Collie. I have one and they are very active and playful. When you take it for a walk you may think it's tired but it won't be tired. Well done for asking the question. Doing some research before you commit to a breed is the best way to get your child a suitable dog who will be a safe and dependable friend. I wish more people would put careful thought into the subject. You can't take risk with a child, which is why I prefer pedigreed dogs. It is a safer gamble because each breed has its characteristic temperament and you would know what to expect from a particular breed and you could research the bloodline. Much less chance of a nasty surprise. It depends how much garden space is available and how much exercise the 9yr old is actually going to give the dog. All breeds have been bred for special reasons. Border Collies were bred as sheep dogs and it is their instinct to want to run about 20 miles a day and if they can't do that, they can become a bit crazy. Terriers were bred to dig. Fox Terriers and Jack Russells can be great pets but they might dig up the garden so you need to decide how important that is for you. Their coats are easy to care for. Gun dogs such as labradors, Golden Retrievers, Spaniels, Irish Setters tend to have placid natures and be good with children. Guide Dogs for the Blind retire their dogs when they are 6 and a half and they are always looking for homes for retired guide dogs. I would consider this as an excellent option because the temperament is known to be sound and at 6yrs, the dog would be expected to have several more happy years of life. Small dogs tend to bite with much less provocation than larger breeds. They also tend to bark more. Some dogs were bred to be dangerous fighting dogs and it is very difficult to stop them when they are attacking so never put your child at risk by getting one of those. I'd stay away from Pit Bulls, English bull terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, Rottweilers etc as generally these breeds are not for children. When my kids were small, we had German Shepherds and I believe there is no finer pastoral dog anywhere. I asked our Vet what would be a good choice in a smaller dog for the children and he recommended a miniature French Poodle. We got one and he was marvellous. Full of fun, always up for a game and no yapping and snapping. The Vet said to stay away from the Toy Poodle as they have had the brains bred out of them. There are a lot of similarities in temperament between the German Shepherd and a French Poodle and both breeds were good with my kids and my cats.

DO NOT do this yourself. If you want your beloved pet humanely euthanized, please have a Veterinarian do this. You can make an appointment with your Vet to come to your house to humanely euthanize your pet. Just don't try to do this yourself as you could end up causing much suffering for you pet which I am sure you do not wish to do.

If your cat is outside then it's normal for even females to be territorial just as dogs will protect their turf around the outside of the house and the house. There isn't much you can do about it. If you see your cat fighting with another cat close to the house then either turn the hose on them or spray them with that cold water. I know, because I lived up North where cat fights kept people awake and that's the only way any of us could break these vicious fights up.
