What does it mean when a cat meows to another cat?

Kittens meow to alert their mother to their presence and inform her they need something... much like a baby's cry.

Adult cats do not normally meow to each other. They meow to humans for much the same reasons that kittens meow at their mothers. It seems to be learned behavior, since adult feral cats don't usually do it; cats are fairly bright, and pet cats learn that reminding their people it's time to feed (or pet, or play with) the kitty sometimes pays off.

One of my cats sometimes meows because she seems to think it's expected of her. When a human pauses speaking but keeps looking at her, she apparently figures it's her turn to say something, so she meows. When she's in the right mood, she will happily play this game for several minutes at a stretch.

The other one, who is less social, sometimes meows at people who approach her in the apparent hope that if she acknowledges our existence vocally, we'll leave her alone and go on about our business.

Why would cats hyperventilate?

Cats may hyperventilate due to stress, anxiety, overheating, or if they are in a state of fear or excitement. Why don't cats look in the mirror?

Yes, but they think it's another cat and not themselves

ANSWER

when my cat was young it was a thing of great entertainment and mystery to him, but once he reached a certain age he would just look in the mirror as i held it to his face, (t was also entertainment to us too) and he'd look very bored and as if hes saying "yeah yeah yeah i get it , its a mirror, its me, how interesting"

They can see their reflection but since they don't smell "another" cat, they quickly lose interest. Cat society is governed by their sense of smell and body language. Without one, the other doesn't matter. In other words, the cat will see the reflection, think it's another cat there but then, once it realizes there is no odor attached to it, it realizes it's not another cat.

My cat is vain, she looks at her self while cleaning, and sees where she missed and fixes it. She will stare at herself for 15 minutes or so and watch as she cleans.

How do you know if a cat likes you?

Purring (means content.) Even sleeping curled up is a sign or laying sprawled out across the back of the couch looking out the window. Cats are generally very laid back and content. They play, eat well (grazing) and drink water. If your cat is ill they will either cling to their owner or go off into another room to have peace and quiet. Older cats that become ill can have a scraggly coat of fur. If in doubt see your vet.

Because in the movie when the cat followed coraline in the other world it could do that thing you were asking....but at the end he does it without goin to the other world. That's the thing that makes you think a number 2 is coming out soon because the ghosts said she is still in danger and that.
