A cat can give birth to as few as one kitten to as many as 14, though the average litter size is around 4-5. Many different factors can go into why your cat only gave birth to one kitten.

In Cat Fancy they have stated that to punish your cat, you do not yell, hit, spray, etc. Instead you stop doing what they enjoy such as petting them and stop playing with them. However, these ignoring treatments also should only last about 5 or less minutes at a time because if you ignore them for a while you will also lose their trust.

Put your new dog in a room by himself. Let him get used to his surroundings.

Once he is used to it, give him something your kitten has slept on, and give your dog something your cat has slept on, to let them get used to the scent.

When you're ready, lead your dog to the door and do the same with the cat. Crack the door very slightly and see how they react.

Next, have someone hold onto the dog, and you will hold onto the cat (or vise-versa). Let them meet face-to-face. If you don't think they're ready for that, put them in cages and position them where they can see and sniff each other.

Repeat this a few times, and, if luck is with you, your kitten and dog will get along! It's good that it's a kitten, rather than a full-grown cat. A cat would feel very protective of his territory, while a kitten probably wouldn't mind.

Yes, they may and they also may thump them pretty hard and hurt them. They COULD kick your cat and break it's back killing it.

My friends cat had a single kitten. She refused to keep it after 3 weeks. I decided to at first give it some smelly wet kitty food and slowly add a little dry til eventually it is weened onto the dry. When kittens are being weened or cut off of mothers milk they tend to have diarrhea. Best of luck , i hope all turns out well for you and your kitten

A kitten, or cat, doesn't need cows milk at any age. Most cats are lactose intolerant and, kittens especially, can get an upset stomach. A kitten with diarrhoea can get very dehydrated very quickly and that can easily become fatal. If the kitten if very young, giving it Kitten Replacer Milk (KMR) will not harm it and will give it a little extra nutrition. If the kitten is old enough to completely eat solid food, water is just fine.
