How do you stop a cat from being in heat?

What does it mean when your cat cries like a baby?

Some dogs may cry out in pain while giving birth and why not- it hurts.

Why do cats like to play with rope?

Cats love to play with yarn because it's so tactile to them. Also, it's fun, especially when they are young. Because they are kittens, they love to discover new things.

Cats are predators by nature, and they are attracted by movement. The sight of yarn moving tends to awaken the "hunting" instinct in them.

Why do cats disappear for weeks from time to time?

Intact (not neutered) male cats usually disappear for weeks at a time to find a mate. Unspayed female cats in heat will also do anything to escape outside to find a tom cat in order to mate.

How old does a kitten have to be before its clawed and fixed?

I don't think you can declaw cats anymore. Cats have to be before heat, and can be done at 8 weeks minimum.

Are cats vermin?

No! Cats are mammals, not like squirrels and rats.

What do you do if you run over a black cat?

You eventually die from bad luck that's now stuck to you and will never go away. RIP

What is the difference between a cat spraying and a cat urinating?

Cats urinate through the same mechanisms as most land mammals. They store up urine in the urinary bladder, then when the urinary bladder is full they look for a safe place to urinate at. Typically cats prefer to bury their urine, so they will often look for soft dirt, sand or other absorbent/draining surfaces to urinate on. They posture then relax the sphincters around the urethra to allow urine to flow out, often accompanied by contractions of the urinary bladder to fully empty it out. Once done, the cat will often circle around, sniff the area to see how strong the odor is, then scratch the surrounding surface with their front paws to cover the urine and mask the scent. One exception to this is an intact male cat who is marking his territory - he will often spray urine around at tail height deliberately as a way of warning off rivals.

Why is your cat suddenly sketchy?

because its claws are too long or it is peregnate or hartromer or hartworm

What happens when a rabbit eats glass?

first answer: Paper is not good for rabbits, especially if it is newspaper. It is the ink on the paper that is poisonous, not the paper itself.

different answer: In North America at least, the ink on newspaper is not poisonous at all. Long, long ago, ink contained lead and other toxic compounds, but that's just not true anymore. Newspapers, city phone books, and other low-grade papers are perfectly safe for your rabbit to eat. See the link below for details.

Don't give your rabbit high-gloss, slick paper, lots of bright colours, bleached white papers, etc. because these could be dangerous and unhealthy. Stick to plain newsprint and cardboard products with few colours.

Remove tape, stapes, labels, etc. from all papers before giving them to your bunny.

What to feed a cat that has no teeth?

You should take the cat to the vet so they can treat it and in the meantime soft food would probably be good.

Why does your cat still spray when he has been neutered?

My guess would be your cat was neutered relatively late in life, after he learned sexual behaviors such as spraying or caterwauling. If a tom cat is neutered prior to learning these behaviors, they tend to not express them. However, once a tom cat has learned these behaviors, even in the absence of testosterone from testicles they will still express the behaviors.

It is also possible that a small portion of testicle was left during the surgery, although this is extremely rare.

Do kittens always remember to always use their litter box?

When first litter training, it is a good idea to place kitty into the litter box after each meal, before bed, and a few more times a day.

If kitty makes a mistake, thoroughly clean the area with disinfectant, and deposit the waste into the litter box, and place kitty there immediately after finding the mistake.

Be sure to clean the litter box every day, since a dirty litter box will deter kitty, and will be hard to cure.

Why does your dog pee only on your stuff?

In all manufactured items, there is a chemical that is released in trace amounts, and is harmless to all humans and imperceptible to most humans. Dogs, however, CAN detect these minute quantities of this chemical, and it has an effect similar to catnip (in that it alters the dog's brain chemistry). This chemical's effect makes the dog think that the item in question is on fire, so they try to put it out by peeing on it.

How does a cat sense a bird's presence?

Mostly by sight. A cat can hear the high pitched flutter of a bird's wings that we can't hear. They smell them. A cat smells 14 times better than a person. A bird to a cat means one thing...It's dinner time.

Do male cats spray that have a queen to breed?

Yes. Spraying is a way of marking territory, and both male and female cats are very territorial. Except when a female is in heat, a male cat considers her no more than another intruder on his hunting grounds, and will spray to mark his turf.

Why does my cat purr a lot?

Why do cats hiss and spit at each other?

When two evenly matched, well armed animals fight, there is a danger that both may be injured. Therefore many such animals have developed a series of ritual postures and sounds that show off their size and intent for aggression before the physical battle starts. Hopefully during this display a weaker animal will recognise the strength of the other and flee before any fight starts.

Why is your cat rubbing her face in your clothes?

I'm not sure, but it is most likely just being friendly with you. Cats do all kinds of crazy cute stuff!

ANSWER

touch is an important thing to cats as it is to humans and many other animals it is a way to express something you feel or think and or to draw attention to them

sometimes they do it to get you to feed them.

they love the love just like we do and sometimes they simply want to be noticed and loved and are asking you to do this.

How long can your two week old kitten survive without there mother?

A kitten at 6 weeks old is likely to survive without its mother, although is likely to still be in the middle of the weaning process.

The main concern is that a kitten should never be taken away from its mother at such an early age. Kittens six to eight weeks old who have already left their mothers and siblings have not learned any important socialisation or behaviour skills yet, which kittens learn from eight weeks onwards. During this time kittens will learn how to play and interact with their littermates, mother and any other animals and humans in the house.

They learn what behaviour is acceptable and what is not from their mother, and will learn how to play and share with their littermates. They will also learn about grooming and litterbox use at this crucial time. Taking a kitten away at this crucial stage of development can cause behavior issues later on in its life as it will not have been taught otherwise.

Is Male cat spray same as urine?

When cats spray, they are spraying urine. They aim it at a vertical surface for the purpose of marking. A diluted vinegar solution will usually neutralize the scent (although it will leave a vinegar smell instead). You can also buy enzyme type cleaners that remove the smell.

Can you declaw all 4 paws?

Cats can't retract their paws, but almost every cat in the world can retract their claws on all 4 paws. That is, every type of cat can do this but one. Cheetahs are the only cats in the world that can't retract their claws. To help keep the claws sharp, cats keep them retracted, i.e., pulled inside the paw, until they need them to play, hunt, climb, scratch an itch, or fight to defend themselves.

Can a man get neutered?

No. A vasectomy is the tying of the vas deferens to pevent sperm reaching the ejaculate and therefore makes the man infertile . Castration is the removal of the testes which produce spermatozia and testosterone. Neutering is usually reserved for animals
