It could be okay or not okay, depending on how much your cat drank or ate. If your cat didn't eat or drink a lot, it is somewhat okay, but shouldn't continue to occur. If it continues to occur, there is a problem. If it has eaten or drunk anything that it normally would, then yes, there is a problem.

That's actually not true... not all cats have fur... and not all cats hate baths! my cat doesn't hate baths and also, one cat on youtube even asks for a bath and turns the tap on and stands under it for ages!

Yes, a neutered male can can indeed still spray, but as his hormones calm down he will be less likely inclined to spray as he will no longer be trying to attract females or enforcing his territory.

It takes about six weeks for any residue hormones to completely filter out of the body. If the cat sprayed before he was neutered, you may have to train him out of it, even after the procedure, either because its a habit for him or he can still smell his urine. Although it is not common for a cat to carry on spraying, it can happen. Be sure to thoroughly clean any areas he used to spray to kill off any enzymes (this will attract him to the same spot again and again).

First of all, has the mother cat abandoned the kittens? If so, then only move them to your garage if you are prepared to take care of them. Otherwise, take them to a shelter.

If the mother has not abandoned the kittens, the choice to move them is yours. Keep in mind, she may abandon them if you touch them. If you want to move them, make sure the mother cat is present and try to keep her with them (take her to your garage as well). It would also be a good idea to approach the mother so she becomes accustomed to you before trying to move them at all. If she is afraid of you, she may attack you if you try to touch her kittens or still abandon them if you succeed in touching them, even if she is present. As before, make sure you are willing to be responsible for them before moving them. Otherwise, you should take the mother and the kittens to a shelter.

To make sure she is in heat. Males usually do not have intrest in a female who is not in heat. Females give off a attractive scent when in heat that makes male cats come from miles away. If she is in heat he will attempt to mount her. He also licks her core (vagina) in a sexual act of mating and before fertilization.

Hi there, When my cat had constipation I was advised by my vet to give him weetabix with milk and to put enough milk in the weetabix to make the cereal soggy. Due to the high fibre this will help his bowels move. However if the constipation has been going on for over 48hours then see your vet. My vet recommended canned pumpkin for a cat with bad constipation. We mixed it in his food and even shot it into his mouth with a syringe. He didn't like it much but it helped.

The younger the better. Usually it's best to get a cat declawed when you get it neutered or spayed, or when it is around 6 to 9 months of age. If you are wanting to get a cat declawed when it is much older, please reconsider as you will be putting a lot of stress and pain on the animal if you've suddenly decided to declaw your 2 or 5 year old cat.

Never! It really is not necessary-- you can teach your cat to use a scratching post, and trim its nails every couple weeks. If you start that when they're young they should adjust well to it. Declawing kittens/cats is really just cruel. Cats clean themselves to remove all traces of food. After they eat and before they sleep. Years ago, in the wild, they were prey to larger animals. They would lick to be sure they got all the blood off their face and paws so that they themselves wouldn't be dinner to a larger animal.

Cats are meticulously clean animals and as such are constantly grooming themselves. Their paws, like our own feet are very important; even the smallest wound can become quickly infected. While there are modern medicines (antibiotics, etc) to combat infections such as these, in the wild an animal with a gangrenous foot is as good as dead. For this reason it is instinctive for any creature to pay particular attention to keeping its feet clean and free from foreign objects. If you have a cat that is patient enough to let you take a close look at its paws you will notice there are gaps between the pads and that fur grows there. These gaps are very vulnerable to injury from things like thorns or broken twigs (for example) and the fur is prone to matting when it becomes wet. The combination of these factors would make infection of even the smallest wound almost inevitable. When cats appear to be biting their paws they are just being thorough in keeping them clean. They aren't actually biting themselves.

A cat is never "too old" to be spayed if it is in good health (ie. able to safely undergo anesthetic). Spaying cats at older ages does mean losing some of the health benefits of spaying them while they are young.

It's a tough one, ask your neighbours to shush him/her away. another way if they have a garden is a silver lined bowl filled with water. (The cat will sometimes assume this is 'a giant eye' and be afraid of it.) You can also purchase fake cats, these are little cat shaped metal sillouttes with two reflective eyes, that people attatch to their garden walls, if the cat thinks another cat is there sometimes they'll back off. But you'll notice the ongoing use of the word 'Sometimes'. Cats are independent, intelligent creatures with their own opinions.there are treatments and sprays you can buy to help prevent a cat going to a certain area but it may not be the kindest way of dealing with it. Asking your neighbours to understand and help prevent him is probably your best course of action. x

I will mention that the Blue Persian Cats are very beautiful cats. However, it is a "high maintenance" breed that requires lots of combing, and is particularly poorly suited to rural life.

Although it is supposed to be a rare case, it definitely happens. I have a cat who just gave birth to one herself. I have read that it can happen in young cats, first litter, and also depending how many mates she has had. But as long as mommy and baby are fine I wouldn't worry about it at all. No need to stress if there are babies that escaped mommy's bed. She'll keep them close.

I bring home shredded paper from the office and mix a bit in their sandbox daily to minimize odours between box cleanups. The cellulose of paper and wood chips is an excellent odour absorber and its free.

Not always but most of the time they are that is because Red in cats is a sex-linked color, carried on the X gene. Therefore, a male cat whose X carries red will be a red tabby. A female cat who carries one red and one non-red X will be a patched tabby, a tortoiseshell, or a calico (if she also has the dominant gene for white markings). A female cat who is homozygous for red (has it on both X genes) will be a red tabby. This is why you see more male red tabbies than females. The chance of having a female red tabby are about 25%

Cats claw furniture usually because they haven't got any other adequate places for it sharpen its claws. Cats need to scratch in order to remove old layers of claw, and also to work the muscles in their feet, shoulders, legs and back.

Providing adequate scratching posts, or even activity trees with multiple scratching posts will usually stop a cat from scratching furniture, as many will naturally prefer posts to furniture.

Yes, my cat is always getting into things and needing a bath. She absolutely hates it, but she puts up with it. They have sensitive systems and skin. The first time I washed my cat I used my dogs shampoo. She got very ill. It turned out the tea tree oil that helps my dogs skin was toxic to the cat. Be sure to pick up a shampoo made just for cats from the pet store to avoid any problems like that.

Ask your vet. We use a dog flea/tick shampoo on our cat and she has no ill effects from it. She's a very hardy domestic shorthair, though. Some breeds are less tolerant to enivronmental factors than others. As long as you THOROUGHLY rinse your cat out, to where no residue is left in the fur, she should do fine.

Often breeders use the terms 'Sire' and 'Dam' for breeding pairs, but there are no specific words for different breeds.
