How long after you stop feeding feral cats will they go away?
You should definitely, stop feeding the cat...unless you want to own another cat!
Usually it is not good to feed feral cats for fear of rabies, ticks and fleas. (BAD fleas) However, you can take the cat to the Doctor and see if has rabies or ear mites, ETC. Good Luck!

Actually, the biggest mistake was to feed them in the first place. like Javalinas, once you feed them, they don't go away. If you can make it through howling and screeching outside your door all day for a month, okay. Also if you feed just one cat, it can bring the whole clan next time because feral cats travel in groups for nursing and protection.
If you want them to leave do not feed them in the first place!
What is different about a breakaway collar than normal collars?
A breakaway collar is designed to break apart if there is intense pressure on it. So if for example your cat got the collar hooked on something instead of being stuck and possibly choking to death the collar would break open and the cat would be free.
Ideas from Wiki s contributors:
Handling Feral Cats:
If they're adult ferals, then contact your local feral cat agency, such as "Alley Cat Allies" in the US. They can give you a humane trap, then have the animals fixed and returned. They will usually find an agency that can handle the feeding and responsibility of your local colony, and can also give you brochures with ideas about how to get them out of your gardens and other areas.
Handling Stray Cats:
First, make sure it's not a lost pet. An agency can help you check for microchips and other signs that it was once owned. If an animal "waltzes in" and is not hand-shy, then it's likely it was formerly owned. This is good, as the cat has a great shot at getting adopted again.
If a stray cat is friendly, and you like animals, you should consider finding a safe room in your house where the animal can be socialized and later adopted to a new home. Perhaps one of your friends or coworkers could also handle this, or you can ask a local "No kill" agency if they have "foster" homes.
Handling Your Own Cats:
Is it safe to give Atasol 30 to cats for pain?
Cat metabolism is very different from humans; drugs like aspirin that are innocuous to humans will kill a cat (there is a metabolic pathway in cats that turns aspirin into cyanide), and morphine, which makes humans sleepy, will make a cat hyper. Do not give any drugs to a cat unless advised to by a vet.
What does it mean if a cat brings a bird in the house?
This means its hungry, or most likely, it is bringing a gift of food to its owners.
It is a banking term meaning that you are in credit. Traditionally, when accountants and bankers did the books (ie the accounts) of a customer they wrote positive credits in black and debts in red. Hence the terms in the black and in the red.

What should i use for kitty litter for kitten training?
I used to have kittens and I used Arm & Hammer Oder Alert Clumping littler it keeps it smelling fresh and clean while training your kitten!
Note that some kittens can eat inappropriate matter. Clumping litter can cause intestinal blockages... if you can find non-clumping litter, that may be safer for your kittens. Once they are grown up, that no longer will be a problem.

I don't have a kitten right now (but im trying to get one) but I did have three cats before and I believe that whats happening is that when the kitten was spayed the hormonal chemicals in the kitten were mostly taken out of the kitten which made the kittens scent change dramatically. There for the kitten has a totally different scent and believe it or not nice cat or mean cats every cat is at least a little territorial about their space. So when the momma cat saw this "new cat" in her space she grew aggressive and began to attack to show the kitten that this was here own space. Cats don't remember different things threw sight the remember things threw smell and once that smell came out of the kitten it was like a new cat came into her territory and shes showing her or him who's boss. Hope I helped you a lot and if you want the momma cat to start liking the kitten again start introducing to momma to the kitten each day, every day, and increase the time spent together each day if it goes well. If its not going well just start from day one (Keep on doing the routine of day one) slowly but surely the momma cat might get used to the kitten and act like its the mother again or the momma might not like the kitten but will soon learn that the kitten has to live there. =) hope that's useful love hope2getacatgrl<333
How many cats can you have in a house in Ontario?
You should have no more than two or three cats in a house in Ontario. This is to avoid animal cruelty and neglect charges.
What should i feed my indoor calico cat?
There are plenty of cat foods out there, but health wise you can check alot off your shopping list. I can't tell you what brand you should buy, but I can tell you what not to.
Always check the ingredient list for Corn, Wheat, or Soy (Corn Meal included). These three ingredients can lead to kidney problems and, in the end, kidney failure, which is fatal.
Also look out for anything with Meat Byproduct in the name. It may just make you sick, Byproduct is made by grinding up the complete animal (Bones, skin, feathers, intestines and all) and mashing it all together. It can also contain road-kill, deceased zoo animals, and 4-D (dead, disabled, diseased, dying) livestock. It can also (Now to the worst part) contain euthinized cats and dogs. Yep. Other then the complete horror of your pet being (unknowingly) cannibalistic these animals still have the medicine which killed them in there veins. Obviously that cannot be healthy.
I could go on and on explaining horrors (Don't get me started about how some places store pet food) , but choose wisely. Remember, cats are carnivores, and grains are not good for them. Rice is ok, so don't discard something just if it has rice in it. I use Life's Abundance for my pets. I personally know the owner of the company so I can assure you it's safety. Google it, it's not that expensive, and your getting human quality food. But there are plenty of other good brands out there.
What does it mean when cats have knots in there fur?
You're supposed to groom your animal on a daily basis, especially if the fur is long. It means you're neglecting your animal and should try to help the cat get them out (ie. carefully cutting them out or untangling them depending on how bad they are). If the knots get tight enough they can twist the cat's skin and make them bleed.
How come your cat withdraws when you try to pet or touch him?
It's not used to human contact - it sees you as a threat.
Normally, no. However, if parts of the ovarian tissue were not removed when she was spayed, yes she can.
Cats generally dislike citrus scents, finding them overwhelming to the feline's delicate sense of smell. If you are using it to keep cats away from certain things, it's important to remember how the thing you are spraying is going to react to either the juice or the oil, which is highly acidic and a potent degreaser, in order.
Of course, I had a cat who loved eating mandarin oranges, so Your Mileage May Vary.
A better way to get cats to avoid an area is to set up "cat traps." Set up a box filled with empty aluminum cans that will tip over when it is messed with. Put open magazines over the edges of tall furniture, so if they try to jump up on it it will let them slide off. There are also commercial devices that are motion sensitive and will squirt water or air at the cat.
I maintain that the best way to train cats is to develop a close emotional relationship with them so that misbehaving hurts your feelings. They will respond to that.
If you are trying to keep the cat from scratching furniture, aluminum foil or double sided sticky back tape are better cat discouragers. And get them scratching posts, similar to what they want to scratch now.
What do you need for a 4 or 5 week old kitten without a mom?
Kittens can be safely weaned after 4 weeks, so it would not hurt it at all.
Be sure to feed kitten food, and cat milk from the pet store. Do not give cows milk, as cats cannot digest the proteins, and will give cat diarrhea
first. storke it
second. take some oil
third. rub it on designated area
fourth. sit back and enjoy
Is it possible or a reasonable idea to train a cat and a ferret to use the same litterbox?
No, ferrets will not use a litter box with a lot of feces in it, they prefer a clean litter pan. And you cannot use the same litter for cats that you can for ferrets. Use litter specially made for ferrets, which cost more. With a cat, you can use cheap clay litter which cannot be used for ferrets, so it make better sense to have separate litter pans from other contributors:
Not really...ferrets insist on corners, and do much better when the front end (i.e. side of a corner without a wall) is at floor level - they poop, then scoot a few inches and use the floor as toilet paper.
However, because of their insistence to dig and the fact that many types of litter can harm their eyes (anything with crystals in it...and of course, using cat litter without crystals is a smelly pain...also, clumping litter is a HUGE no no since it'll stick to them and they'll ingest it - not good for their narrow digestive tracts)... a much better alternative is to use dog potty training pads. I personally use the neat N dry brand, and cut them in half into triangles so that they work well in the corner. They're great at absorbing wetness and odor - and much easier to clean. I just change them once a day and put them in that morning's newspaper plastic bag before I put it in the big trash can.
