Well many things can hurt a cat. Although cats do have a very high tolerance to pain they do get hurt. It could be a thorn in the bushes or even another cat's scratch. Cats are much like children they will inevitably get hurt but you don't have to stress too much on it because they will lick the wound to heal it but it's better if you do clean it will an alcohol swab. But remember never use dettol ! It can be toxic for a cat.

It should not be necessary in cats, as they scratch trees ect to control this.

It depends on the oil. If a cat ingests a lot of cooking oil such as olive oil, then it is likely it will cause vomiting and diarrhoea. For non-edible oils such as motor oil, seeking immediate veterinary treatment is highly advisable as motor can be incredibly harmful.

If any oil is on the cat, bathe it asap.

However, there are oils that are beneficial in small doses and do not harm the cat at all:

Salmon oil and Evening Primrose oil are two oils that a cat can benefit greatly from. You can also add a weekly treat of oily fish such as sardines or mackerel (best in spring water), or even scraps of plain fatty meat (such as skin from a chicken) either raw or cooked, depending on what your cat prefers, as this will have the same effect.

Salmon oil contains omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. It is the omega 3 fatty acids that are so valuable in salmon oil. Salmon oil helps improve coat and skin quality and lubricate joints, which an elderly cat may benefit greatly from. It is advisable to use this instead of Cod Liver oil, as this contains a high level of Vitamin A which a cat can overdose on if fed too much.

Evening Primrose oil also contains vitamins and fatty acids that promote healthy supple skin and soft, glossy fur much like Salmon oil.

Both these oils can be found in most health shops and can be added to the cat's meal a couple of times a week. Only a few drops are needed each time.

Feed a cat portions of food once or twice a day (more than that if you have a kitten) so they don't eat too much all at once, or keep constantly eating, making it overweight. Feeding your cat at set times during the day as opposed to leaving a bowl of dry food out all day lets you, the owner, know exactly how much your cat is eating and thus easier to regulate if the cat needs to be fed less or more, or easier to spot any changes in its eating habits which could indicate a change in health.

It is best to wait until the kittens have their eyes open before bathing.The mother will keep them clean. The mother can bathe a few days after giving birth. Make sure you totally dry her before putting her back with the kittens to prevent them from getting wet and chilling. When the kittens can bathe make sure you dry them completely before returning to mother to keep them from chilling.

It depends on their childhood, and how they are looked after. Like humans, if they don't get much contact or they are abused, or saddened in their life, this will mirror how they act in the future. If a cat is not in contact with humans when it is young, or taken away from its litter-mates too early (six to ten weeks), then it is most likely to be more aggressive as it never learned how to behave around people and in normal situations.

The average 12 week old female kitten weighs 1.9 to 3.5 pounds depending on breed or size of the kitten. Longhaired kittens or kittens from large breeds tend to weigh a bit more.

Basically, if you have a 12 week old kitten and if he/she is below 2 pounds you should take it to the vet as soon as possible. Underweight kittens is a sure sign of worms in its digestive system stealing anywhere from 10% to 75% of nutrients from the kittens' food. Or it could mean the kitty has an injury or sickness which can lead to mild to severe lethargy, or is not being fed the correct type or amount of food. Lethargic cats often don't feel like eating if they are in pain, often to the point they die of starvation.

Me personally, I would take any 12 week old to the vet if they weighed anything below 2.5 pounds, just in case, male or female. More than likely the vet will say the kitty is fine, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Money for medical treatment is of no object to me when it comes to my pets, I wish most pet owners felt the same way.

In my experience I say yes, back then I brought this weak little kitten it was very thin and with no mom so I kept it in my big birds cage since he is so small he can’t hurt them and the birds are friendly, don’t worry the cage was very big the kitten had fun while living with the birds and now he lives in my garden. So every morning I would give him my Leftover like chicken, fish and meat or some tuna and also camel milk he drank it every day and now he is big, healthy, strong and very playful.

You mean, when do they start eating solid food? I'm not exactly sure, but I think it's around 6 to 8 weeks old. One of my cats was 2 weeks old when I got her, so I had to feed her that special liquid kitten formula, as she was not old enough to eat solid food.

I started feeding her solid food when she was around 8 weeks old. I suppose I could have started earlier; I'm not sure. But the first night I brought her home, I didn't realize she was too young for solid food, so I fed her some chicken and she had horrible diarrhea all over the down quilt on my bed. So, since I really did not want to have that experience again, I kept feeding her the kitten formula until I was positive that she could eat solid food.

You can buy this special milk-like kitten formula at most pet supply stores. It typically comes with a powder supplement, and you mix a certain amount of the powder into the formula, depending on the kitten's age.

A one day old kitten needs to be fed (i am assuming it has been orphaned) with a baby bottle for kittens. Usually a 60ml bottle, with a nipple on the top. You either need to go buy some special kitten milk formula. Your vet will be able to give you some.

They are spaying cats/kittens earlier these days than in days gone by. The last kitten I had spayed and declawed she was only a couple of months old. No, you cannot give Tylenol to cats for pain because it can cause a fatal reaction (Heinz body anemia). Even a single pill is far too much and could kill your cat.

Beacause they don't want scratches on them or their furneture. I know someone who's cat is 15 with NO FRONT CLAWS yet can climb their 50 ft trees.
