Taiyo Yuden used to be the industry standard but since they have been taken over by JVC, their quality is terrible. I used to be able to burn 8X rated TY DVD-R discs at 16X and get an overall quality score of 99.2 to 99.3 with DVD Info Pro. I just opened my first spindle of the JVC-Taiyo Yuden DVD-Rs. The first thing I noticed is that the media will not allow burning at a speed greater than 12X. Then I tried burning the same disk 3 times, once at 12X, 8X and 4X. The quality score of all three DVDs was 96 or less (marginal to poor). Until JVC butts out and lets Taiyo Yuden do what they do best, I'll be switching to Verbatim as that is the only other brand I have had good luck with of late.

DVD+R Have better performance in newer DVD drives, and is usually better for data backup and archiving.

Based on my knowledge and some research, I say spiral track. I say that since a CD drive uses a laser to read data (that's what I thought and people told me), if it went in concentric circles, then the laser would have to quickly turn off then turn on as it skipped to the next circle. To keep the data flowing to the processor (or wherever it goes, I'm just using logic), it would have to write data on a CD in a spiral track as the laser moved inward to read the data. To me, that's the most logical answer.

That should be "NO". You can check if your drive is a dual layer burner by looking at the symbols on the side of the Drive. If a drive is able to burn Dvd-9 (Duel Layer DVD), it will have R or RW with a 'DL' after it.

Your question should be the other way around. Since the first cars were buggies with engines they were all open cars or "convertibles" with very few exceptions. Then in the early 1900's as the automobile began the evolve all manufacturers began the build closed cars as their main offerings but they also offered an open or convertible as well. Ford did not offer a closed car until 1920 or so.

i think you mean "can you put pictures ON a cd-r" and the answer is yes, of course just not a lot. get a USB DRIVE a 5 dollar one holds more pictures, and is re-writable, and soooo easy to use, you dont have to worry about burning.
