If you are buring data on a CD-R it's by default read only. Thus, use a CD-R (not CD-RW) and use just the standard windows recording tools (drug and drop, or send to).

To burn a CD you would have to get on Media Player. But the catch is this only works for windows not Apple or Mac.

Not true, you can burn a CD on a Mac and play it in your car. I have done it many times using iTunes.

I found that if you just wet and give them a light wash with water and a mild detergent with a soft bristle brush, pack the shoe rock solid with newspaper so they don't shink and lose their shape and they come up like new, I have done this with both my shoes and a sude jacket. The jacket I didnt pack with paper though I just stretched it couple times while it was drying. Make sure you scotchgard them after cleaning.

You cannot format CD-R's in any operating system. However, you can format CD-RW's in any operating system. You can record on a CD-R only once, but you can record thousands of times on a CD-RW and format it over and over again.

No. Only difference between an external and an internal drive is well, one's on the outside and the other is on the inside. That's about it. the mechanics of CD burners are the same regardless of location.
