Probably, but you'd still need to make sure the chambers are small enough to yield a decent compression ratio. Most 305's have pistons intended for a 58cc chamber. Anything more would cause poor performance. That cam would run good with 9:1 or higher.

if you have never done this before,i suggest you purchase a good manual for your car and follow the instructions.there is a long list of things that must be done in a certain order to remove/replace a head(s) and get it running again.

The 305 & 350 are basically the same engine. The 305 just has a smaller bore(3.736 vs. 4.000), not quite the power or torque, but durability should be almost identical. It is more costy to rebuild a 305 than a 350 due to the popularity of the 350. If power is not an issue then go for the 305 if you can get one cheaper. If you want more power, then a 350 is the way to go.

All Chevy V8's and inline 6 use the same bolt pattern and it is different from the bolt pattern used for Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Cadillac. A transmission that fits one Chevy V8 or inline 6 will fit any other V8 or inline 6. Not sure if V6 uses the same pattern.

The firing order of the 305 Chevrolet V8 is the same as all other Small Block Chevrolet V8's. The firing order is: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. I will post an additional link that you might find helpful. It will provide you with torque specs and other valuable information on the Small Block Chevy.

The 1995 Chevy truck did not come equipped with an ashtray light. It may; however, be possible to purchase an after market light to install.

yes. your check engine light will be on though. and on an obd1 system it will be a code #13. but it will run lean or rich and have poor gas mileage.

Low coolant? Thermostat not closing allowing engine temperature to get to normal operating range? System air bound? Heater core plugged or restricted? Water pump not circulating coolant?

I would start by working my way backwards. First see if you are getting fire to your coil. Work your way back through the system until you find your problem. Make sure you have all your wires hooked up properly on your distributor. If you have one of those computer controled distributors you may have to reset the computor. I'm not sure how to do that but sometimes it is done by disconnecting the negative cable on the battery and wait several minutes and hook it back up. Best of luck to you.

remove grn from bat. remove bat cable from starter solinoid. remove brn wire from starter solinoid. remove two 3/8bolts from starter to block. tilt nose of starter up and lower. this is most common.

Ignition coils can go bad from shorts or from age. A coil wire that is leaking can cause a partial short to ground and ruin a coil. Coils can go bad simply with age as well, as heating and cooling over time just wears them out.

Passenger side under the two back cylinders. Two bolts go through the bottom of the starter into the bottom of the block.

zero lash is on all it does not matter which they are all zero lash 305 is known for flat cam in those years

A 305 is the same exact block design as a 350, the only major difference is the displacement and heads. Now, if it is a newer vehicle (1989 or newer) there could be some issues with fuel and electronics which are a little over my head.

Hayden. If its throttle body injection 1987-1994 it will be very easy. Only real difference is you will need to get a PROM chip to match the engine you have. really depends on the year of the 2 engines you are swapping. JT KILLINS
