Asked in Jobs for Teens, Salary and Pay Rates, Chick-fil-A

How much is Chick-Fil-A operator's average salary?

User Avatar
After six weeks of paid training, the operator is in business with a guaranteed salary of $30,000 a year, plus half of net profits after 15 percent of gross sales goes to Chick-fil-A, Inc. The average operator of a freestanding unit (FSU) can expect to make anywhere from $180,000-$225,000. Mall Unit operators can expect anywhere from $40,000 to over $120,000. Multi-unit operators make substantially more. The average FSU has annual unit sales of around $3,000,000. Chick-fil-A hand picks their operators, about 75 per year, from over 20,000 notices of interest per year. That's less than .05%. You have a better chance of getting an MBA at Harvard University. They choose about 35% form outside the company with 65% coming from within. Of that 65%, about 35% come from their interim manager program. Also do not expect to be chosen if you are not a perfect candidate. If you have one financial or personal blemish you will not be chosen, period. Check your credit report and public records for anything negative because it will disqualify you and you can save you're time. So do not even start working for them thinking you can work your way into an operator position if you are not perfect. You do need a college degree. They say character matters but only if its negative and part of the public record. And do sign up for some outside civic activities to show your involved in the community, even if you quit after your selected. Once you're selected as an operator you're set for life unless you run the store into the ground (pretty hard to do) or try to open on a Sunday. It helps tremendously if you have a parent or sibling already running a Chick-fil-A store, that's just about a guarantee you will get one, whether you're qualified or not. If you're an outside candidate, Chick-fil-A prefers retired military officers or extremely successful business people (retired or active). Candidates that can use some help getting back on their feet do not expect a hand up from Chick-fil-A in the operator selection process.

How old do you have to be to work at Chick-Fil-A?

User Avatar
Age to Work at Chick-fil-a Some think you can work at Chick-fil-a at 14, but usually the minimum age that any company will hire a person is 16 because of child labor laws. Some will hire 15-year-olds, but restrictions placed on how many and what hours they can work usually are too prohibitive, so companies do not hire anyone under 16.

Why do people think Cathy truett is Mormon?

People might assume that Truett Cathy is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the 'Mormon' Church) because his stores are closed on Sundays. They must not realize that "keep the Sabbath Day holy" is a basic Christian belief that does not only apply to Mormons.

Asked in Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Franchising, Chick-fil-A

How do you start a Chick Fil-A franchise and to contact them?

User Avatar
$5,000 dollars!........ Yes.... that's right only $5,000 dollars is needed to buy into this franchise. Franchisees who buy into this must be dedicated though. Chick-fil-A requires that its restaurant operators be involved in the business. Chick-fil-A takes 15% of sales from the top to cover national marketing, and general upkeep of the brand and then 50% of profits each month, thus the reason the buy-in is so inexpensive. While this may seem like a bad deal, many Chick-fil-A operators make $200K/ year or more. Not such a bad deal at all!

What is Chick Fil A?

User Avatar
Chick-fil-A, Inc. (CFA) is an American quick-service food chain, officially founded in 1967, which specializes in chicken entrees. Operating nearly 1600 stores across 39 states and the District of Columbia, Chick-fil-A is the nation's second-largest chicken-based fast food franchise. It's founder, S. Truett Cathy, is credited with inventing the first Chicken Sandwich, and the company is also known for pioneering in-mall dining and providing exceptional customer service. Chick-fil-A classics such as the Original Chicken Sandwich, Chick 'n Strips, Waffle Potato Fries, and CFA freshly-squeezed lemonade have been enjoyed by American consumers for over 43 years. Chick-fil-A reminds its guests to "Eat Mor Chickin" through the use of promotional Cows which urge customers to avoid hamburger restaurants. Just be sure to visit a CFA store before the end of the week, because Chick-fil-A has, and always will be, closed on Sundays. Chick-fil-A is currently experiencing its 44th year of consecutive sales growth and is looking to double its size by 2020.
Asked in Chick-fil-A

What is the cost of a Chick-Fil-A franchise?

User Avatar
Chick-Fil-A franchises cost $10,000 (it used to be $5,000, but has recently changed). You also have to commit to being a hands-on manager, being there all the time, and make it through a very strict application process. They only select a small portion of those who apply. Chick-Fil-A (CFA) does not allow absentee franchisees. You MUST be there, in the shop, everyday (except Sundays; all CFAs are closed on Sundays by contract) in person. CFA's franchise program is designed for people who REALLY want to work for themselves, and have precious little experience doing so. They hold your hand on everything. They'll even dictate the location of your shop. If you find such micromanagement to be infuriating, I would suggest walking on by. On the other hand, if you're poor, honest, resourceful, learn quickly on the job, and can scratch together the money to get in, then CFA just might be the shop for you.

Does Chick-fil-A hire gay people?

User Avatar
Yes, Chick-fil-A does hire gays. Potential employees aren't asked of their sexual orientation when applying for a job at Chick-fil-A. However, as of 2017, there are still 28 U.S. states where it is legal to fire someone for being gay, and when this happens, the employer does not have to disclose the reason for termination. Chick-fil-A operates restaurants in all of these states.

How do you make a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich?

User Avatar
For the regular Chick-Fil-A Chicken sandwich the chicken comes to us pre marinated and frozen. We thaw the chicken, dip it in a milk wash and bread it (milk and breading are pre seasoned). We then pressure fry the chicken filet. It comes served on a butter toasted bun with two pickle slices.
