Unless the mother is considered an "unfit mother" (doing drugs, sleeping around, etc.) then the courts often leave the child with the mother. The courts take into consideration the welfare of the child and who is able to give the quality of time to the child. However, the father has the right usually to see their child, so, perhaps the court system will allow the child to see their father on holidays for a month or two out of the year. You really need a lawyer for this one. Marcy
Does child support go down if the father has another child w someone else in the state of Missouri?
yes it does!
In general, the birth of a subsequent child[ren] will not affect the parent's obligation to the older child[ren]. When calculating support for younger children, support actually ordered and paid for older children is subtracted from net income.
If at 17 in sc they choose to move out can the 17 year old sue for support?
if you are choosing to leave your home where parents supported you then no you can not sue for support reason being it is your choice to leave your parents support. If it is other circumstances then maybe but you would have to take it case by case depending on the circumstances not just wanting to leave because you feel nothing is fair. Also i don't know if this exactly applies for s.c.

I am 14 why do I still feel like a child Please help me.?
I feel for you- 14 is a very rough age. The thing is, you ARE still a child. You are closer to being an adult than you were when you were 8 years old, but you still have a ways to go yet. The key is to hang on. Watch, listen, pay attention to ALL of the things that go on around you. Make note of the good things, and the things that COULD have been done better. That is so you have the chance to DO them better when that time comes. Understand that you do not see all things that are taking place. Learning to know what the things are that you do not yet know is one of the most important. And do know this- just about everyone you see or meet that is older went through the same things YOU are going through now. It does get better. But it does take time. And very best wishes to you from a great grandfather that CAN remember when he was 14.
Does the North Carolina state automatically end child support payments at age 18?
Child support usually ends when the child reaches 18 AND graduates high school, OR the age of 20 if the child has not graduated high school.
Child Support works until "Said sum shall continue until the "child(ren) shall have married, died, become self-supporting, or reach the age of eighteen."
This is taken stright from the MARITAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT from a standard North Carolina Divorce Packet from the Circuit Clerk's Office.

A custodial parent who is contemplating any move that would interfere with the non-custodial parent's custodial and visitation rights must return to court to seek a new custodial and/or visitation agreement. Courts view this issue with the focus being on the child's best interests and that includes the importance of having access and time with both parents. This issue is viewed not as permission for the parent to move but for permission to move the child. See links for more information.

How can you get custody for your unborn child if you know that its yours?
No one apart from the mother can obtain "custody" of a fetus. Custody battles must wait until the child has been born.
You can file for paternity testing, although it would probably be best to wait until the child is born before doing that. If the tests prove the child is yours, you can then file for custody. Due to physical restrictions, I would assume that a father can't get custody of an unborn child.
Would a minor child have to pay rent to his parents?
Parents are legally obligated to support their minor children. Most minors have no source of income with which to pay rent anyway, so such demands would be impossible. If a particular child happens to be a wealthy child actor, and the parents would like to receive rent, that would be possible, although even then it would seem silly.
No it's not legal. But I wonder if you actually have a rent agreement with your parents or if you are working and they want you to pay rent when in fact they are saving the money to give to you later and this is a lesson in personal finances and for you to get used to living on a budget. My parents did that to me and I was the only one who was not shocked when I moved out how little money I had left. All my friends were complaining but they were not used ot it as I was. I also had a nice nest egg to buy furniture for.

In Florida can you be separated but live together for the sake of the child?
Yes, and you can do it and in Canada as well. Many couples will stay for the children's sakes, but sometimes I wonder if that is the best thing for them. It appears you and your husband want to go this route, so if you have a suite downstairs then he could live downstairs, while you live upstairs. If you don't then you could have separate bedrooms and if the kids ask, just say he has a bad back and needs a harder mattress. You don't need to get a legal separation to do this. Just do it! Good luck Marcy
