What is a native New Yorker?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A person who was/is raised or settled in New York City. "New Yorker" does not refer to anyone who lives in the state of New York, but anyone who originated or settled in New York City.

My Definition: As a New Yorker myself, I would say a New York native would be a person who experienced a change in New York, knows their way around the area, and knows the better way of transporting around the city.

You don't if you have automatic stablizing. It's done automatically with the compressor located behind the rear passenger tire. If it isn't doing what it is supposed to, then it needs to be repaired or replaced. You can charge them manually, but it will not last.

How do you set the memory for the power seats on a 1993 New Yorker?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

On the drivers door panel should be 3 push buttons. Once you have the seat and exterior mirrors in the desired position, press the "S" and then "1". The same can be done for a second driver, simply by pressing the "S" then "2". On the first 93 New Yorker we owned, you could even program a third position by pressing the "S" and then the 1 & 2 together at the same time. Our current New Yorker does not allow the third preset.

How do you fix the ABS system in a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You more than likely have a defective unit. i own a '93 new yorker and my abs lights were lit on my dash, a few days later my brakes completely failed. ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT CAN EXPERIENCE EXCESSIVE BRAKE ACTUATOR PISTON SEAL WEAR CAUSING PUMP-MOTOR DETERIORATION.

there is an open recall on this part, i got it replaced for free (a several thousand dollar job) less the cost of a diagnostic computer fee. here's a link with more info: http://www.motortrend.com/cars/1991/chrysler/new_yorker/recalls/index.html http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/09-int/1993/chrysler/new-yorker/index.html

although the model year is '91 for the link ik believe they were still using the same abs assembly in 93. hope this helps.

What type of freon does a Chrysler New Yorker 6 cy 3.3L engine take?

User Avatar

Asked by Brandy1258

Answer

What year? There are two types for cars R12 for cars up to 1993 It no longer made and if anyone has any they can charge you $100 to $150 per pound The other is R134a for cars after 1993 An older car MUST be retrofitted to R134a for $100 to $500 depending on what needs to be replaced

freon

there is only one type of freon. It's freon it will work in any vehicle

Totally incorrect! There are several different kinds of "FREON" freon is actually a trade name of Dupont for R22... Not an overall refrigerant. Anyone who has the certification to work on refrigeration equipment of any size will tell you it needs to be replaced with R134a. R12 is a refrigerant that destroys the ozone and has been banned by the EPA. FYI if anyone is caught putting R12 in for you they and you can be stuck with pretty hefty fines as well.

Why would the interior lights of a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker not turn off when the car is off and the doors are closed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The interior lights will stay on for about 30 seconds after the door is closed to allow those inside to see what they're doing. If the lights stay on after that, you may have a damaged door switch on one of the doors. You may also have the lights turned on manually, which is accomplished by rotating the headlight knob past the first stop. (Rotating the headlight knob dims or brightens the dash lighting. At maximum dash brightness there is a small "stop" in the knob rotation; rotating past this point will retain maximum dash brightness
