Was Osama bin Laden a CIA agent in the 1980s?

No. Bin Laden was a CIA Asset in the 1980s. The difference is that an agent is directly affiliated with the US government and reports to Langley, but an asset is someone in close communication with an agent, but harbors no natural loyalty to the US government.

The reason that Bin Laden was an asset in 1980s was that he was leading the Mujahedin rebels against the Soviet-backed Communist Afghan Government. The United States wished to make the Soviets suffer in Afghanistan the way that the Soviets had made the United States suffer in Vietnam.

What is the difference between the CIA and the FBI?

The CIA works with intelligence and the FBI leads investigations. Officially, FBI cannot work outside of the US and CIA cannot ONLY work outside of the US. Of course, they both break those rules, which is probably actually a good thing.

What is a former CIA foe?

KGB--now you can complete that crossword puzzle!

Can you be in the FBI if you wear glasses?

The vision requirements to work within the FBI are a minimum of 20/200 uncorrected and 20/20 in one eye, 20/40 in the other with corrections (ie glasses/soft contacts). You can get PKR or Lasik to fix your eyes, but that would set your employment back at least a year in order to make sure that you don't have any adverse effects from the surgery.

What is best way to become a black ops agent for the CIA?

What you're referring to is what the CIA officially calls its Specialized Skills Operations Officers. The general requirement for any CIA Officer is to have at least a 4-year college degree (BA/BS) with a minimum 3.0GPA. Excellent written and communication skills are also essential. Foreign language fluency and extensive overseas travel and cultural knowledge are also very useful skills. To be a Specialized Skills Operations Officer - the guys that are sent in to perform the CIA's covert paramilitary intelligence operations ("black ops" if you will) - you will most certainly need to have extensive military special operations experience with a history of foreign combat operations deployments. The average CIA "black ops" officer has years of experience in Army Special Forces, Army Delta Force, Navy SEALs, Marine Force Recon, etc on top of the 4-year college degree. Also note that any employee for the CIA, especially overseas officers, must have clean backgrounds. All employees go through a very extensive background investigation prior to be hired. Any arrests, drug use, alcohol abuse, or a long history of being untrustworthy and gossipy amongst friends, classmates, and coworkers are all reasons for being disqualified.

So if you want to know the best way to become a black ops officer for the CIA - stay out of trouble, away from drugs, be loyal and trustworthy to people you know, do VERY well in school, be responsible and reliable in any job you ever have, and of course, serve at least a few years in a U.S. military special operations unit. This last part is obviously much easier said than done.

Are there foreign law enforcement or intelligence agencies that hire Americans?

If you are simply an American, then to my knowledge, no. If you are a dual national, however, several countries do. I know that Germany allows Germans to enter into law enforcement even if they hold another nationality (uncluding US nationality), and would presume that numerous other countries have similar provisions.

Who is higher up CIA or FBI?

Overview: That's a hard question to answer because we couldn't simply compare the CIA with the FBI. The CIA works mainly as an intelligence gathering force. On the other hand, the FBI is the highest level of law enforcement for the United States. They work on the high profile robberies, corporate frauds, etc.

Traditionally the FBI was only allowed to work on US soil, and the CIA could operate anywhere BUT US soil. Since the passage of the Patriot Act and the formation of the umbrella Department of Homeland Security these lines have blurred considerably.

Opinion One: If you really want to know which is better, I prefer CIA personally. Since CIA is an agency deal with international stuff, FBI is a organization do with federal stuff, CIA must be more trained.

Opinion Two: The CIA is responsible for world affairs where as the FBI deals within our country as a law enforcement agency.

Opinion Three: cia is in my opinion better because they deal with the intelligent side, when FBI is just the top police and law enforcement. while both deal with law, FBI has the most special rights. cia is just a government organization that gathers information on terrorists, criminals, etc....................

Marfalicious patty cakes come from the CIA-So FBI sucks

extreme opinion 4: well the cia is for presidential that means that they protect the president and take info about tourist now in the other hand the FBI has better power they can go international and us soil and other places every were you go say I'm FBI they will treat you better than any thing because they are more command in the world so i hope this helps i'am a principle in a school of intelligence.

Can an osteopath legally use the initials MD after their name?

No. DO and MD are the two different, yet equal, degrees needed to become licensed physicians and surgeons in the United States. The credentials you use would have to be the ones you've earned. Putting an MD after your name when you are really a DO would be like putting an MS after your name when you really have an MA. MD and DO are two different, yet totally equivalent degrees. How many freaking times does this need to be said?

A doctor of osteopathic medicine has the same credentials as does an MD including the option of becoming "board certified" in their area of training. They spend the same amount of time in medical school, internship, residency as does an MD, but unlike an MD, a DO spends hundreds of hours of additional training in the musculoskeletal system.

What does CIA after a name mean?

Probably that the person went to the Culinary Institute of America. This means he's a great chef. CIA officers wouldn't put that behind their names.

Can a CIA agent become a millionaire?

Yes,some are given much latitude in setting up "companies" to conceal their covers. Some are phoney others actually have been known to make particular agents very wealthy and insure them very important business contacts long after they leave the agency.

What should you do if the CIA is trying to kill you?

This is not something we at this site can address. Since the actions of the CIA are confidential and related to national security, they rarely report on which people are being targeted and for what reason; but historically, the targets are usually overseas terror suspects and people believed to be spies for foreign governments, based on what reports we do have. Sometimes, people in the U.S. believe the CIA is out to get them, but it generally turns out to be untrue. If you sincerely believe the CIA is after you, talk with your congressional representative and with an attorney you trust.

On the other hand, if you are asking a general question about what types of people the CIA goes after or what those people can do to protect themselves, there are some national security experts who cover the agency and write about it for such newspapers as the New York Times and Washington Post. I also enclose a link to a website that specializes in security, including coverage of federal agencies such as the FBI and CIA. It may not tell you exactly what you want, but perhaps the editors there can better answer your question.

Did the CIA lie about the direction of the bullet that killed Kennedy?

Yes the CIA lied about the direction of the fatal bullet.

Mafia hit man James Files has recently admitted to firing the fatal bullet,

that blew John F Kennedy's (JFK) brains out towards the rear,

from the infamous grassy knoll in Daily Plaza. Which was in front of JFK at the time of the shooting.

Skilled morticians worked on JFK head to cover up the massive head trauma and support the FBI, CIA, and government's lone crazy gun man theory.

But Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill JFK or Dallas Police Officer J. D. Tippit,

he was the government's patsy. Photos of Oswald working with the CIA have recently surfaced.

The Mafia killed JFK because Bobby Kennedy was "turning up the heat" on the Mafia.

Even after all the work the Mafia had done in Chicago to get JFK elected president in 1960.

James Files worked together with another Mafia hit man to "take the trash out" as he put it.

Do CIA agents have an assigned area to live?

Hey,

CIA Agents do have assigned areas to live, because let's say that an agent lived in L.A. and they have to do a "Mission" in Australia they would have to go over there for a period of time, and they would have to live in Australia till they complete the Mission, and it can take days or it can take month.

The reason why the two organization cannot be combined is because they serve similar functions but one, the FBI is national, and two, the CIA is international.

Is Thomas Amshay a CIA dude?

If you know how you can find a lot in gov databases. He's something but don't know for sure what. Lotsa rumors around him. He owns a business in South America that looks to maybe be tied to cia. One red flag has to do with him killing sombedoy said to be a robber. Another red flag is his wife is Vietnamese and her mother was a cia agent-op back during the war in Nam. He seems to be the only person with his name. He has residences in Ohio, NC and Hawaii. Hope that helps. His wives name comes up as Kimmie but maybe that's really his daughter cause she's pretty young. This much I can tell you, I wouldn't be saying this if my name showed up.

He is a contractor or operative but not an employees. He is a for-hire contractor. His family owns a import export company in S America and that's a breeding ground for CIA stuff or at least used to be.
