Since the temp is usually something you cannot control, (you would not lower the temp in your entire home to 70 degrees when your normal summer setting is 76 degrees) you only need to know this: as the temp rises, so will your humidity. So, if your temp is 76 , 70% will be too much humidity.

Do not rub the inside of the humidor with water. Allow the jars to work inside your humidor for at least a week before putting cigars in it. 2 weeks is better. Only use distilled water to refill the jars. Don't store the humidor where it can receive direct sunlight. Inside a cabinet or closet is best. Do not store "flavored" and regular cigars in the same humidor. Don't buy a box of anything until you know you like it. Buy samplers. My last bit of advice - There is no such thing as a one dollar cigar... life is too short. Only buy the ones you enjoy.
