They do not sell codeine cough syrup OTC in the USA. You can buy codeine products OTC in Canada, though. 8mgs per dose. The only way to get narcotic cough syrup is to have a doctors perscription.

To set the record straight cough syrup that contains codeine may be purchased not over the counter but by asking the Pharmacist for the medication and then siging for it in a log that we keep behind the counter. For the folks that like to make bold statements ie the cough syrup with codeine can not be purchased any where in the USA.. you need to do some background work. I do not know the regulations of every state but in Tennessee this product can be purchased in a pharmacy.

It comes from the opium poppy, and is one of the main opiate alkaloids found in the poppy, along with morphine, thebaine, and a few others. It feels pretty good if you take enough as with any opiate but believe me its pretty addicting. It is the most commonly prescribed narcotic, being prescribed for conditions from cough to mild to moderate pain. Im not encouraging any drug use but if that's the reason for you asking this question i only ask you to do your research on codeine and any other drug it is combined with in your prescription. Ie. cod/prometh syrup, codeine/apap*, codeine/guafenisen etc.

Pairing codeine with other drugs makes it harder to abuse as well as serving the function of two medicines. *be extremely dose cautious when using codeine with Apap, or Aceitomenophen(Tylenol), because apap can cause overdose at doses as little as 2,000 mg(depending on the preperation could be as little as 4 pillz).

Maybe taking more codeine? Though I wouldn't suggest it... And why would you want to 'heighten' the effects of codeine may I ask? If you're looking for a high, don't do it with just straight codeine. I'll mention mixing codeine with some marijuana, but I also don't suggest doing that (it depends on how much of a tolerance you have to marijuana too, for the high you'll get from it)

I myself didn't smoke cannabis for a week before I mixed it with codeine (and this was when I smoked 2-4 times a week, I had a tolerance where my 'highs' only last for about 40-50 minutes, then I come down) and what is funny is that I was completely oblivious of what happens when mixing codeine and marijuana, and I was recently taking codeine the entire week I didn't smoke cannabis, so the codeine was in my system real good. So one day I took another 30mg of codeine (I took 1-3 of those a day for 6 days) And the high I felt just minutes after smoking... Very intense, it was honestly a crazy psychedelic experience for me. I once mixed marijuana (back when I first started smoking it) with shrooms and salvia, and that was pretty intense. But the high I felt with cannabis + codeine was at least 3x more intense that that. I may have had more visual effects and more 'mentally high' with mixing those three, but the high with codeine and marijuana was different and unexpected, and I was tripping so hard it wasn't really enjoyable, Colors seemed brighter and more real, couldn't tell the difference between light or dark, and as for what I was feeling I can't even begin to comprehend, it's something you're gonna have to feel for yourself to understand. What was also unexpected was that in the past hour and a half after initially mixing the two, I'd feel myself getting higher, and higher, I didn't hit the peak at like 10-30 minutes in, it must have been somewhere around an hour and 40 minutes in, don't know if it was all in my head but it was still crazy nonetheless. The part where I got me the most was when I vividly felt fluids in my head swishing around, and I really REALLY believed that I was bleeding inside my skull. I felt dizzy, light headed, my head felt 'tight pressured', I couldn't properly breathe (mostly because I was tripping out I assume) and of course a racing heart. I also haven't felt the same since, and whenever I smoke marijuana after that experience it leaves me with a much more intense high than usual.

Mixing codeine and marijuana does do some brain damage btw, but it's not permanent, it's more of a 'mental wound' kind of brain damage, hurting your psyche a bit. But it goes away within time.

That is if you stop putting any marijuana or codeine in your system for a while.

Codone is stronger than Codeine. Codeine is what you find in Vicodin, while Codone is what you find in Percaset. Hope this helped :D

There is no codeine in ondansetron. They are completely different things; one is an opiate, the other is an anti-emetic.

Codeine often works to backup the bowel and cause blockage. With a full blown attack the bowel is often narrowed to the point where little can get through the restriction except liquids, blocking this completely is serious and will cause the patient to require a hospital stay not to mention the pain and nausea involved with a complete blockage.

yes you can take codine with phenergan and Proventil at together. i have bad asthma and when i get sick my dr has me up my proventil and give me codine with phenergan and hycodan, i also take singular and advair with it as well. (all on drs orders)

Lots of option for breakthrough pain. Methadone is used as a long acting time released narcotic. Pain management clinics will depending on the the patient and the condition often offer a shorter acting pain relief narcotic for break through. Examples could include, norco, vicodin, Oxycontin, dilaudid, morphine in various strengths depending on the dosage of methadone and how many tabs a day are being taken. Also depending on the dosage of Methadone the strength may be increased or shorther period between doses could be an option. All depends on how long a person has be taking Methadone and what the break through pain level are on a scale of 1-10. Hope this helps. I feel your pain.

Lortabs are acetaminophen and hydrocodone, a synthetic opiate that is highly addictive. Taking Lortabs alone can cause mental confusion. Taken with alcohol they can be fatal. One could argue that only a person who was mentally confused to begin with would take narcotics with alcohol.

It is almost impossible to not recognize. The pill itself, on one side (or sometimes both) of the tablet, will have a "4" engraving which is extremely noticeable.
