SIDS is not caused by immunizations. Most children get their immunizations at about four months which coincides with the average age. But children without immunizations also die of SIDS. Answer There is absolutely no medical evidence that SIDS is caused by getting your child immunized. SIDS is still a very new topic in the medical field but the most common ways to help protect your baby from SIDS is to place your child on their back when sleeping and keep all extra blankets, pillows and stuffed animals out of their crib. Immunizations are an important way to help protect your baby from several diseases that can be dangerous even deadly to them. Their systems haven't built up the immunity needed to fight infections. Answer Excerpt from: healthboards.com I have done extensive research on vaccines after almost losing my daughter from a severe reaction to the DPT vaccine. I truly believe that vaccines are in direct relation with Sids. Many children die every year or are severly damaged in some form from vaccines. The word has to be spread that they are very dangerous. I would be very interested in finding out from parents who have lost there children just how soon before they were given shots. Parents really need to research the facts on vaccines. You would be very surprised the actual facts of what your exposing your children to. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU MAKE THE DECISION TO GIVE VACCINES. VISIT:
Answer2: Much research is still being down to find the causes of SIDS, why a healthy baby just fails to wake up one day. So far contributing factors like smoking and the position of the baby has been linked to causes, but no one specific things has been said to be the cause of all crib death.
Why can you not kill flu with antibiotics?
Antibiotics are only for killing bacteria, they do not work on viruses which are the cause of the flu. Bacteria are living organisms and so poisons and chemicals can actually kill them. But flu viruses are non-living organisms so they can not be killed, they can only be inactivated by damage or physical blocking by antibodies (made by our immune systems) of the shapes of the structures viruses use to attach to a host's cells. Viruses need a host's cells to use to reproduce, if they can not attach to the cells, they will be inactivated. Antibiotics are not capable of inactivating them.
No, actually it's the opposite. Ice Cream, Popsicles and frozen yogurt can cool your sore throat, reducing pain and speeding up recovery. So enjoy your favorite ice cream. Just don't eat too much, because you're immune system will keep your body warm instead of fighting bacteria, which can get you sick.
yes and no. some germs could be bad to your health, for example, germs are the reason you get sick. but that is only a type of germ. there are germs every where! and not ALL of them are bad, some are bad, but not all. therefore, u should be careful with wat you tuch, but dont worry too much because not all germs are bad
Will cephalexin help cough and congestion?
Probably not. Cold sores are caused by a virus you should use antiviral treatment like Lysine or Abreva. That medication is used to help treat bacterial infections and pneumonia it won't do any thing for viruses. See related link for more information.

Cure medicine for yellow phlegm please help?
I do not know of any spray that will help thin out mucous. The only sprays that are available over the counter are meant to numb a sore throat. The best thing you can do is drink copious amounts of water. This will help thin out the phlegm that may feel "gloppy" in the back of your throat. If this mucous is due to a cough (i.e. coming from the chest), it is important that you allow your body to "cough it out." This is the only way you are going to get it out of your lungs.
If the phlegm that you have in the back of your throat is due to a post nasal drip, you might consider using a first generation anti-histamine such as Benadryl. This will dry out whatever is in your nasal passage so that it won't drip down the back of your throat. Keep in mind that Benadryl can make you sleepy and dehydrated. If you chose to use it, don't drink, drive, etc while taking it; also keep up the copious amounts of water. The non-sedating anti-histamines such as Claritin do not do a good job in drying you up. Finally, make sure that you are able to take Benadryl. It is not appropriate for everyone (i.e. if you have BPH..), so run it by the pharmacist or your doctor before using it.
Just being cold or feeling chilled will not lead to catching the common cold. After all, temperatures that are 'cold' are nothing but the absence of heat and not an actual energy. What gives us colds are viruses, of over 200 types. The most common viruses causing colds in humans are Rhinoviruses and Coronaviruses. So really, it can be 100F degrees out and you can catch a cold.
Who found the cure for the flu?
the US military in the 1940's it was first used in the Second World War
How many cases have been found in Wisconsin of Swine Flu?
There may be some ongoing cases in limited locations around the world, including in the US Midwest. However, the specifics and counts of cases are no longer being tracked by CDC, WHO, the US states, and most other countries, now that the pandemic has been declared over. Influenza cases are monitored, but specific H1N1/09 counts (and the lab tests needed to isolate the specific virus to be able to count them correctly) aren't being done. Influenza cases in general are monitored, but statistics are not being kept for H1N1/09 cases separately from other influenza types for reporting any longer in the post pandemic phase.

Do flu shots have formaldehyde in them?
One of the flu vaccines approved for US use by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) may have minuscule traces of formaldehyde that is used in the creation of the vaccine to inactivate ("kill") the virus. The vaccines approved for injection as flu shots in the US all use inactivated viruses in the vaccine. All three FDA approved A-H1N1/09 Pandemic flu vaccines use different chemicals in making the virus inactive. One uses formaldehyde for this part of the manufacturing process. After this use of the formaldehyde, the solution is further purified and most, if not all, of the formaldehyde is removed in that process. The ingredients list must include ANY traces of residual chemicals from manufacturing, no matter how insignificant. The final vaccine from one manufacturer may contain, in each 0.5 mL dose, residual amounts of formaldehyde, but not more than 100 mcg. (which has been proven safe by the recent human trials and approved by the FDA as negligible amounts). The use of this processing technique has been in place for years in the manufacturing process of some of the regular seasonal flu shots, and the incidence of any problems with those vaccines is extremely low and likely unrelated to the formaldehyde residual traces.
Everyone is encouraged to take the H1N1 immunization when it is made available to them. Like you can see when reading the label on other medicines, or even on a package of cookies at the grocery store, preservatives and other chemicals are a part of the manufacturing of items in everyday life, and when proven safe over time, there is no reason to be overly concerned or take the higher risk of catching the serious disease by refusing the immunization.
What gauge and length needle is used in childs flu vaccines?
This is from the CDC's flu vaccine instructions to health care providers:
"The intramuscular route is recommended for TIV. Adults and older children should be vaccinated in the deltoid muscle. A needle length of 1 inch or longer (>25 mm) should be considered for persons in these age groups because needles of <1 inch might be of insufficient length to penetrate muscle tissue in certain adults and older children. When injecting into the deltoid muscle among children with adequate deltoid muscle mass, a needle length of 7/8--1.25 inches is recommended.
Infants and young children should be vaccinated in the anterolateral aspect of the thigh. A needle length of 7/8--1 inch should be used for children aged <12 months."

Why do you get a snotty nose if you get cold?
When you have cold you have snot why well the reason for that is because when you breath in the air sometimes the air contains bad germs but your hairs in your nose traps it but sometimes the germs can go in you respiratory system. The germs start growing in your nose, throat and lungs. You have a cold!
However........
snot is another word for muces (mu-u-cus) Mucus is so important that it's found all over nature. Inside your nose, it's a thick, sticky, wet pudding-like gunk that coats your skin and hairs. Mucus is made by, mucus membranes. Your body has mucus membranes in all sorts of places: the stomach, intestines, nose, lungs, eyes, mouth, and the urinary tract all contain mucus membranes that secrete mucus. For now, we will "pick the nasal membranes and mucus" as our topic of interest. Mucus becomes very important with every breath that you take.
Each time that you take a breath, there are three very important things that happen.
1. The air that you breathe in is cleaned by tiny hairs in your nose, trapping little bits of dirt and dust and germs that come in through your nose.
2. As you breathe, the air is made slightly wet. Your nose having damp passages does this.
3. The next thing that takes place when air enters your nose is that the air is warmed. This happens because the blood flows through the lining of the nose and gives off heat.
What animal did the spanish flu come from?
Pigs spread the original swine flu virus among themselves. The mutation, known as the 2009 Swine Flu (Influenza A, Novel H1N1 virus), that is now a human virus is spread by humans. It is a mutation of the swine flu and avian (bird flu) that has combined with a human virus.
Was there a vaccine for the flu of 1918?
At the time electron microscopes didn't exist so most Doctors and scientists thought the 1918 "Spanish" H1N1 flu was a bacteria. This was due to finding the lungs of victims in autopsies full of bacteria which they had the technology to isolate.
In 2005 scientists isolated the H1N1 Influenza A of the 1918-1919 pandemic. So they could manufacture a vaccine based on that virus-I'm not aware if this has been done.
Is it safe to take a shower a day after you get the flu shot?
Yes, it is safe to take a shower a day after you get the flu shot. The shower does not affect how well the flu shot will protect you against the flu.
The warm water may also be good for you to use to increase the circulation in the injection location and help reduce any inflammation or soreness (that can be a result of the vaccination in some people).
Why do you sneeze when you have a cold or hay fever?
Sneexing can be caused by many tghings, including a cold or an allergy. My grandfather once sneezed 40 times without stopping because he looked at the Sun.
If hand sanitizer kills 99.9 percent of germs why don't they mix it with regular soap?
Fact states that normal soaps are already antibacterial, but you see, this is just a marketing tool to lure customers into buying their product instead of regular soap.
there are medical companies which claim that they have found out the medicines of swine flu.
recently i saw an add stating that the medicines for swine flu are available at mediplus in a media newspaper like "The Hindu".
i dont know how much true the information is, but the persons suffering from swineflu can definitely try out this medicine as there will be some sort of hope for them.
