What does a negative number times a postive number equal?
That depends on which number is greater. ex: (9)+(-4)= +5 -- because the 9 is a larger number. Also, the use of a number line will really help. ...-5 _-4_ -3_ -2_ -1_ 0_ 1_ 2_ 3_ 4_ 5... just start on one of the numbers and then travel to the right (if the other number is positive) , or the left ( if the other number is negative) and you will land on your answer. keep in mind that 5+(-2)= 3 is the same as 5-2= 3 Hope this helps...and if you were asking "Is a positive number TIMES a negative number negative?", the answer is yes.
What is the cost of 4 years of college in the Air Force Academy?
The Air Force Academy, like West Point and Annapolis, is fully federally funded. As such, cadets do not pay any tuition or room and board. In fact cadets are given a paycheck based on 35% of Second Lieutenant pay in the Air Force.
Expenses are incurred in the mandatory purchasing of equipment such as uniforms, however this is fully covered by cadet pay leaving a considerable amount of money left for discretionary use.
Cadets do have to pay for textbooks out of pocket, usually $200-$700 per semester depending on courses taken and the condition of the books, but these expenses can also be covered by cadet pay.

How much does junior college cost?
The cost of an Associates Degree is going to depend on the state the college is located in, the state mandate, the school itself, and at times the program of study you are taking. That being said, it will still be the best deal in town at a much lesser cost then that of a four year institution. In addition, the community college is a great place to start. If you are attending the community college that is located within your home county the tuition will be at the in-county rate. If you attend a community college outside of your county, then the tuition is usually doubled. Some community colleges may even have an out-of-state rate. To give you an example I will use a community college that I know of that is located in New Jersey. The in-county rate is $87.00 per credit. The out-of-county rate is $174.00 per credit. However, the school stopped charging the out-of-state rate years ago. Thus, at the in-county rate (as a full-time student taking 12 credits - four courses), the semester runs approximately $1400.00 plus per semester. Now if you multiply the tuition rate of $87.00 by 12 credits you will find the total doesn't make sense. That's why I said approximately. There are fees other than tuition to include, application fee, registration fee, technology fee, parking, possibly an insurance fee if you do not have health coverage, course fees, activities fee, possible clinical fees if you are in an allied health field etc. Always apply for Financial Aid regardless of whether you feel you will not qualify. Let them tell you, you do not qualify. Besides, the school will make you apply anyway should you apply for any scholarships or grants. Next, always apply for a scholarship. Don't drive yourself nuts trying to figure out which scholarship you might qualify for. You simple indicate on the application that you are applying for any scholarship you may be eligible for. The support staff within the Financial Office will then attempt to match your qualifications against all available scholarships. Last resort (if you really cannot afford the cost and you do not qualify for any grants or scholarships), is a guaranteed student loan where you will not have to start repaying until six months after you're out of school. Still make this your last resort. Once again, the cost will depend on the above mentioned variables. You can research this information particular to any college you have an interest in by clicking on the related links section (College Board) indicated at the bottom of this answer box.

I would imagine there are some reasons why you do not apply to an out of state college to begin with. However, while there is always the possibility of transferring to another institution, you always take the risk that not all credits will transfer depending on the school, and the schools transfer credit policies. It is always better to start and end at the same school. However, you must also remember that if a student is not comfortable with the school they are attending, they will typically not fair as well academically.

There are no standard tuition and fee rates for colleges and universities. Each institution will have rates particular to itself. There are a number of variables to consider to include whether the institution is public or private, the geographical location, the specific program of study (some of which have greater course and/or clinical fees), and whether the school is a two year or four year institution.
