Well, you're going to want it in a room that is safe and secure. Cleanliness is good too. A big problem is getting too much dust in the components. I'd set your tower under a desk with the monitor on the desk (this obviously wouldn't apply to laptops). Make sure your cords are secured and not out in the open where they can be tripped on or ripped up by a pet. Also, networking plays a big part in this. If you're home network is wireless, you're going to want any nonmobile computers to be in places where there can be as little interference as possible from other wireless devices. Many routers operate on similar frequencies to that of microwaves and wireless phones. If your desktop is going to be using wireless, locate it somewhere near the router or where there are clear lines of wireless communication. If you have more than one desktop, put your router at one of those desktops.

If I had to choose a dell laptop with the most features it would be alienware or the dell XPS laptop. The dell XPS is cheaper than alienware but has the same amount of gaming power. If you had a choice of brands I would recommend HP laptops like the HDX 16t laptops that has a nice selection of features.

There are actually several sites that offer multi monitor computer systems and monitor stands (arrays) and adapters. The best one I have come across seems to be www.multiplexpc.com. Hardware manufacturing process is a high volume, low cost, high profit operation. Processes have been optimized to consume the least amount of resources for fabrication.Although people is highly skilled it is somewhat easy to replace people on production lines in case someone drops off. Besides, they sell lots and lots of products because there's a broad market and consumers for that piece of hardware.

On the other hand, software (other than widely used Operating Systems) most of the time have smaller markets or serve a tiny fraction (in proportion) of the computer users; thus the amount of sales is smaller.

People that develop and maintain software is a lot harder to find, they demand higher income and in general they cost a lot more than people on production lines, they are not easily replaced either.

Given the above, in proportion, the hardware production, although it is a much larger scale business their profits are equally large (due to high-volume sales). The software production industry is very small in comparison and their cost is somewhat higher, leaving them with a much smaller profit per sale.

Also, a software firm often offer discounts for recurring customers (i.e. for an upgraded version of the software) and the hardware industry does not. Sometimes they have trade-ins but even then they recycle the products, so the consumer is giving them back the cost of the product.
