a touch screen can be a phone/ computer that you can touch by your finger and it does it if you know what i mean it is well hard to explain right so it is something that you can touch it it will go automaticly to that place what you touched instead of using buttons

For it to be an input device, the requirements are for the user to be able to input information into a device or computer system. (keyboard, mouse)

Output devices need to show and display information aswell as produce information. (monitor, printer)

A touch-screen mobile phone would be a good example for an input/output device, you touch the screen to get it to do something, at the same time you gather the information from the screen.

Devices for communication between computers, such as modems and network cards, typically serve for both input and output.

Also, a touch screen can be considered as an input and output device. Others include: Fax, 3-in-1 printers, headsets, and audio/video cards.

Touch screen computers are used for: visual communication, more realistic qualities in a game when being played and more ease and comfort when being used

A monitor is a device that displays video signals. The signals themselves are calculated through discrete hardware (graphical processing units or video cards) or are integral to the CPU themselves.

There are many places where an individual may purchase a widescreen LCD monitor. For instance, Target, Best Buy, and Frys all sell widescreen LCD monitors. Additionally, a person may purchase these at Sears, on eBay, or on Amazon.

It is probably where the tv was physically impacted by an object and the liquid crystal has dispersed away from the area. I had one that eventually (about 9 months after) fixed itself and is back to normal.

Depends what size you are interested in and also what you will be using the panel for. I've done a lot of research in the 24" market. Came to the conclusion that the BENQ 2400HD is an all round top performer, a step above the rest. It come with all the best connections (HDMI, etc). Blacks are really deep and dark compared to most of the rival's shade of grey. Price is really good too. I will be using it for HD PS3 playback, Blu-Ray and surfing the net. It is safe on CRT monitors. It has the potential to damage LCD screens, so it should not be used on them.

That would likely not be a good idea. Presumably you would be using "contact paper." The problem with that is that it would reduce your visibility. In addition, you might not get all the air bubbles out. If you have to remove this plastic layer, you would likely leave adhesive behind. What might be a better idea would be to use a large enough, clear acetate sheet and fasten it to the case of the monitor and not the screen.

A makeshift solution may be to put a bag over the monitor when not in use. You would still have to clean it, but it would be protected when not in use.

Television signals are broadcast at 60Hz, that is 60 fields every second. To make movement appear smoother and to reduce flicker on televisions, some models refresh the screen at twice or four times the rate of the incoming signal. Theoretically, the faster the refresh, the smoother the image will appear so 240Hz might be considered better than 120Hz.

But, it's not quite that simple. Some people prefer this processing while others will say that it does not benefit the quality.

Increasing the frame rate is not a simple task. Each additional frame needs to be created by examining the frames before and after with all movement predicted and calculated. It takes a lot of processing power to do it properly and the image processing still gets it wrong sometimes. The result can be smearing of the image or even adding some high speed jerkiness. These processes can never create information that was not captured originally so the end result always adds errors. Whether the end result appears better, worse or just the same is always a matter of opinion. Get into stores and see for yourself. If you like the effect of 120Hz or 240Hz refresh, it's a good thing to have. If you don't, then it's not worthwhile. If you are buying, remember it's your television so like what you like and not what you are told to like.

The computer screen can be connected to the TV via an HDMI cable provided the computer and the TV are fitted for it. The TV just reproduces what's on the computer screen.

Yes, you can. there are three things you could do. you could:

a) Watch at Hulu or Netflix.

b) Buy tv shows on itunes.

c) If you had anything on dvd, you could burn it to the computer.

You should be able to purchase an adapter at your local Radio Shack or equal. The problem you will run into is the pixels(amount of dots per inch)in a computer monitor are double that of a TV. Due to this fact, the text will appear fuzzy.OK for games though. Good luck.

get a device called a "scan converter"

if you have a video cards with video out it should be easy to hook up. check your card and manual.

my travel desktop has a geforce 2mx 400 it will do duel display in windows but wont display on boot unless i have no monitor connected to the vga it then detects no vga and switchs over to TV out. your exp my vary.

Look at your electronics store for a 'TV-out' card. This will probably be a PCI card which you will need to install inside in your computer. You can then hook up your TV's cable to the back of the card.

Monitors by definition have no tuner, so to use one as a TV you would need a tuner card in your computer. There were some tuner boxes for that purpose but they never caught on. Some tivo type boxes will use a monitor too. Yes it can as long as it has the correct input cables.

spray the moniter with bug spray on the outside where he/she got in, and wipe away the bug spray off the acsual screen. he sshould die, and then shake the moniter to get it out.

A normal computer monitor is simply an output device; it takes no input from the user. A touchscreen monitor, on the other hand, is both an input and an output device.
