An old person is a person with experience. The older the person, the more experience they have acquired.

All other factors that you may use to describe an old person may or may not apply. Old people like any people are individuals with their own individual characteristics.

The advice I received from a company who specializes in this was to volunteer to your local politician to write speeches for them. Many lack the budgets to afford speechwriters, so give it a try. I haven't tried yet, but I'll post my results if and when it happens.

You're going about it backwards, I'm afraid. Finish your story first, then pick a title based on what you've written. That's how writers do it.

To become a writer you need to be disciplined so that you will write even if you're not "in the mood." You also need to be willing to learn - both from seeing what you've done wrong and from reading what other writers do right. You need to be able to "step back" and analyze your own work to see if it's correct or not.

People might not have too much self esteem regarding their work - so while it's important to be honest with your thoughts so that they can get an honest critique, it's also important that you're kind about it. Even if there isn't much you liked, make sure to say at least two or three things in the positive direction to offset all the negative. People can feel attacked if your critique is only a negative one, and you want them to be able to listen to your advice and not just reject it.

When giving your advice, show them certain parts that had the thing that you either liked or didn't like. The more you write, the more people will appreciate your comments. Don't skimp and just spend five lousy minutes on it. Take your time and comb through their work; they'll thank you for it when revising their piece.

Overall, just be honest! Remember that you're here to help them improve, and that they know that you're not obligated to love it. Don't be afraid to speak your opinions; people won't mind, as long as you're not mean about what you say.
