Yabbies are omnivores (meaning they eat both vegetation and meat). There are many folk tales about yabbies being either carnivores (from the yabby catchers) or vegetarians (from the aquarium keepers). The truth is they'll eat both. They'll eat bark, mud, slime, insects, each other (yes they can be cannibalistic at times). They are scavengers, thus they'll eat whatever they can get almost. The reason meat is used for catching is because it tends to attract the yabbies far easier. For the same reason (meat being a greater pollutant) in an aquarium, they are usually fed almost entirely a vegetarian diet as it helps preserve the water quality.
Cockles are bivalves and are active suspension feeders. This means they filter organic matter from water. They "catch" food by actively sweeping or pumping the surrounding water and filter nutrition.
What is mean by prawn culture?
A prawn culture is a society built entirely by shrimps and prawns. Such societies often have banks, national healthcare, free public education and "Prawn Brothels". Not many people know how sophisticated prawns are, but they are actually extremely intelligent, due to the high percentage of Stephen Hawking in their diet. Does this answer your question?
Crayfish will eat anything that get to there claws. They usually eat meal-worms, cat food, and regular fish food. They do prefer mealworms though. All you have to do to feed it, is to drop the food in front of the crayfish's claws.
Yes. Algae wafers are food that sinks on the bottom of the tank. it is food for some bottom feeders like cat fish. However, some upper or mid strata fish will eat it. Unless they're carnivores.
quite obviously... crayplants :) duh
in reply...............very smart answer buti do know that crayfish have 212 chromosomes
*Depending on the species of crayfish, they will eat aquatic plants, decaying materials in the water, other crayfish, fish eggs, snails, and aquatic insects. Many species are omnivores and will eat just about anything they can get their claws onto. ~ Kelly, Director of Black River Action Team*
Why do you remove the vein in lobster tails?
The vein is removed from a lobster tail because it is full of waste. The taste of the vein is not good to many people.
Not like a human would, but they do seem to have a face of sorts. See link below:
What ways does the flow of water benefit the poriferans?
Poriferans, or sponges, use the flagella of their individual choanocyte cells in order to generate a current of water that brings in food, in the form of zooplankton and or phytoplankton, as well as to bring in oxygen and other dissolved nutrients, and take away carbon dioxide and other dissolved wastes.

Why do sea animals depend on krill?
Correction only some depend of krill. Like whales. Here's what a whale would say to you "Why do humans depend on food?Sleep?Water?" because we all have to live. It's a circle of life. Krill don't fight back, they're easy to catch and they are not a big hassle to digest. It is likely that larger animals like whales have weak digestive systems, unlike crocodiles. So if they eat large bony animals such as orcas, seals and penguins, their stomach acids would not digest the bones, therefore clogging it's intestines to keep nutrients from passing through and causing the animal to choke to death. This might also answere why mamal predators like lions and orcas only eat a small portion of their kills while scavengers like sharks and crocodiles can symply eat the whole thing.
