i have been for over a year now. and its been fine.

but last night i felt as if someone slipped me a tranquillizer in my drink, i couldn't keep my eyes open, and like my legs felt like jello. then i started crying uncontrollably.

you should always avoid alcohol when on anti-depressants, as it eventually will start counter acting the drug and screw up your head and make you do insane things.

You can overly suppress your system causing death. Never combine these medications EVER I've been taking xanax and cymbalta together for 2 years now with no adverse reactions so I'm curious about this response?? Cymbalta does not "supress your system", it is an SSNRI and has no effect on the GABA receptors in the brain which Xanax works through.

Talk to your doctor! Going off of anti-depressants and/or starting another drug is something that they should definitely know about and advise you on.

all I know is that I had never had any kind of kidney problem, but within 2-3 days of taking cymbalta just a couple of times (doc gave me a sample), I had my first kidney stones. I am convinced there was a connection, as Cymbalta does have urinary-related side effects.

It totally dependes on the person. I know of people who love each of those. I think Prozac is great for OCD and GAD (generalized anxiety). One will not be better than the other, just better for you and your needs.

I switched from 10mg lexapro to 30 mg cymbalta for 2 wk and then 60 mg. Have had good results. For one thing I quit gaining weight, as I did on lexapro. Cymbalta also helped my muscle aches and pains as an added plus.

Yes, I have been diagnose with BPD 2 and I am currently taken Cymbalta due to the pain I have all over my body. The doctor actually put me on it for extreme anxiety disorder however since it was not working I had my psychologist medically test me to see what disorder was going on. My body is not able to channel pain correctly and when I take Cymbalta I am able to function and carry out normal activities. Cymbalta has not helped at all with the mood swings that I experience. Sometimes I am depressed, anxiety runs me, and I have paranoia fears.

You shouldn't be concerned with the side effects while using any recreational drugs--isn't that the point? If you're asking whether you'll have a major medical reaction to crank because you're taking Cymbalta--The answer is no. If you have a severe negative reaction to crank it's because you're body does not handle it well. This has no correlation with anti-depressants.

Generally speaking, expect a headache when you're coming down off of any uppers regardless of taking prescribed anti-depressants.
