I switched from 10mg lexapro to 30 mg cymbalta for 2 wk and then 60 mg. Have had good results. For one thing I quit gaining weight, as I did on lexapro. Cymbalta also helped my muscle aches and pains as an added plus.

Yes, I have been diagnose with BPD 2 and I am currently taken Cymbalta due to the pain I have all over my body. The doctor actually put me on it for extreme anxiety disorder however since it was not working I had my psychologist medically test me to see what disorder was going on. My body is not able to channel pain correctly and when I take Cymbalta I am able to function and carry out normal activities. Cymbalta has not helped at all with the mood swings that I experience. Sometimes I am depressed, anxiety runs me, and I have paranoia fears.

If I were you I wouldn't take st john wort. I've heard that it can make ptsd worse in some cases. I would try wellbutrin or budiproprion (Spelling) instead. Slowly wean from cymbalta. It can make you severely depressed and or manic even if you have never been. Also wellbutrin and the budi meds are the most natural meds they make for ptsd, depression, etc. if that's what your worried about. Good luck! :)

I take 120 mg now, and was originally on 60. I found 60 to be the optimum dosage so far, but every person will be different. In general, though, 60 mg is considered the therapeutic dose.

I wouldn't suggest it at all. Just from personal experience, I developed a moderate case of serotonin syndrome while weening myself off Lexapro to switch to Cymbalta. Had I taken my regular dosage of Lexapro (20mg) with the 20mg of Cymbalta, I probably would have ended up in the ER.
Get plenty of exercise and eat well. Try to sleep. That's about all you can do, really. You don't want to avoid too much electrical brain activity. That's what keeps you alive.
Perhaps you need coffee, it will help you to focus. There has been new test that show that coffee is actually more helpful then bad, if you drink it moderately (1-2 cups a day). After you get moving on the things that you want to do, you can start to cut down on the caffeine if necessary. Right now just get the momentum going in the things the you want to do. Staying in action is the remedy. Stay out of your head as much as possible. Thinking is the enemy; stay busy.
