A person can go to a number of different stores to buy ballet pointe shoes. Chain stores like Walmart always have a few, or they can be purchased from any dance studio.

Street dancing is popular within a lot of cultures, and there are a lot of different types. In the UK (largely in London) street dance in the form of break dancing is popular and this originated in New York. Street dancing is very popular in Brazilian culture, American and British culture, and also the hip-hop and rave cultures throughout the world. There are also Afro-American, Afro-Caribbean, South American and West African cultures.

It is a mixture of several pieces, among those the slow piano piece of "State of Contraction". This piece is originally just a bit longer than a minute. In the ballet it is taken up by the strings and repeated and variated several times. I have not been able to find out the other pieces.

At the dance studio i go to, they have springs underneath the floors and they help us immensly with our joints. The main purpose of the floors is to cushion the bouncing and slamming that happens over and over again when dancing. Dance floors also have specific coverings that prevent a dance from slipping.

Modern dance is diversed from Classical Ballet where the dancers/choreographers try to break the rules and strict of Classical...i.e., in Classical the dancers tend to dance on turn out most of the time and seems to concentrate to work on their legs , whereas in Modern is dance in turn-in feet and use the spines and focus on relaxation of upper body. Contemporary is the dance style that combined or influenced by other dance style but still based on relaxation and freedom of movement rather than rigid as in classical ballet.

Median annual earnings were $34,090 in "other schools and instruction," a North American Industry Classification System category that includes dance studios and schools.

Dancers who were on tour usually received an additional allowance for room and board, as well as extra compensation for overtime. Earnings from dancing are usually low because employment is part year and irregular. Dancers often supplement their income by working as guest artists with other dance companies, teaching dance, or taking jobs unrelated to the field.

Earnings of dancers at many of the largest companies and in commercial settings are governed by union contracts. Dancers in the major opera ballet, classical ballet, and modern dance corps belong to the American Guild of Musical Artists, Inc. of the AFL-CIO; those who appear on live or videotaped television programs belong to the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists; those who perform in films and on television belong to the Screen Actors Guild; and those in musical theater are members of the Actors' Equity Association. The unions and producers sign basic agreements specifying minimum salary rates, hours of work, benefits, and other conditions of employment. However, the contract each dancer signs with the producer of the show may be more favorable than the basic agreement.

Most salaried dancers and choreographers covered by union contracts receive some paid sick leave and various health and pension benefits, including extended sick pay and family-leave benefits provided by their unions. Employers contribute toward these benefits. Dancers and choreographers not covered by union contracts usually do not enjoy such benefits.
