How long after you start ballet can you dance Demi pointe?
If you are talking about demi pointe shoes (otherwise known at soft blocks) your teacher may recommend you to wear them. I recently got my demi pointe shoes and have been taking ballet classes for just over a year (now at grade 4). Mine were very uncomfortable at first, but you just have to break them in, just like you would for a regular pointe shoe. If in any doubt talk to you ballet teacher, they could give you some advice about whether you should need soft blocks.
Also if you are taking RAD intermediate exams, I believe it is compulsory to have demi pointe shoes. Not completely sure though, i would double check.
Good luck and hope this was some help to you:)

Dancing "en pointe," or on pointe, is a major goal in a ballerina's dance life. Dancing on pointe, or your toes, requires tremendous strength of the legs and feet. Many balletteachers have strict requirements for starting pointe work. How do you know when you're ready for pointe shoes? Following are 5 requirements that must be met before considering starting pointe ballet classes.
Age for Pointe
The proper age to start pointe work is controversial. Many experts believe that a ballet dancer can begin dancing on pointe if she is at least 9 or 10 years old. Some teachers don't attach a number at all, they simply rely on ability. However, because growth of the foot is about complete at age 11 or 12, many agree that pointe work could be introduced at this time. Never try dancing on pointe shoes if an instructor tells you to wait, as it's easy to become injured.
Years of Training for Pointe
You can't begin a ballet career in pointe shoes. In order to be able to dance on pointe, a dancer must have had time to achieve the form, strength, and alignment needed to make a successful transition into pointe work. Proper technique is required to be able to properly rise on the toes without risks of injury.
Class Enrollment for Pointe
In order to maintain proper technique and flexibility needed for pointe work, it is imperative to practice ballet formally at least 3 times per week. The pointe portion of the class should follow the regular ballet class, perhaps extending the class time by half an hour. This ensures that the entire body, especially the feet and ankles, are properly warmed up.
Physical Readiness for Pointe
All dancers should be formally evaluated by their ballet teacher to determine if they are physically ready to meet the demands of pointe work. The teacher should check for correct body position and alignment, sufficient turnout, strength and balance, and mastery of basic ballet techniques.
Emotional Maturity for Pointe
Pointe work is hard work. Beginning pointe classes will be more demanding on your body, especially your feet. Are you prepared to suffer from sore feet and occasional blisters? Also, pointe shoes are complicated and demand a certain level of responsibility to maintain. You must be taught the correct way to put them on your feet and tie them to your ankles. You must also care for them properly to keep them in good condition. Furthermore, are you ready to devote at least three hours per week to ballet classes? Choosing to dance on pointe is a decision that should be taken seriously.

How can i stop slipping off my pole when pole dancing?
There are a variety of grip aids out there that are designed to help you stick to the pole. A few brands are:
Tite Grip. This is my personal favorite. Tite Grip comes in the form of a thick, pink liquid and is designed as an anti-perspirant for your hands (or feet). A dime sized amount will prevent your hands from sweating excessively, and will last for 3-5 hours. I've used Tite Grip regularly at the club adn it does not show up under the blacklights.
Mighty Grip. I've had experience with this as well, although I prefer Tite Grip better. Mighty Grip comes in the form of a white powder and is designed to create a tacky surface on your palms. A few LIGHT sprinkles of the powder will give you a good grip. However, it does wash and wear off fairly easily, so you may find yourself re-applying it frequently. The powder disappears after you've applied it and will not show up under blacklights. I've used this at the club as well with no incident.
Dry Hands. We sell this at the fitness facility where I currently work. Dry Hands comes in the form of a clear liquid and a dime sized amount will prevent you from slipping. It washes and wears off fairly quickly, so again, you'll probably have to reapply it often but it works well for short term use.
Climber's Chalk. Climber's Chaulk is a great way to prevent slipping without using a bottled grip aid. Climber's Chalk can be found in the climbing section in any sports store and usually comes in its own little bag, which distributes the chalk onto your hands as you pat it lightly against your palms. It can be a bit messy (mainly from the chalk floating in the air as you pat), but works great. I enjoy using it for those tricky inverts.
Those are the top four grip aids that I recommend. There are tons of aids out there. You just have to find the one that works for you. Good luck!
