Can a CD or CD RW drive read a DVD?

Typically a drive marked as being a 'CD' or a 'CD RW' drive, will not be able to read a DVD. You will need one marked as being at least a 'DVD' drive, which will be able to read DVDs and CDs too.

What transfers from a storage device to memory when a user runs an application?

Cache transfers from a storage device to memory when a user runs an application.

What are three common secondary storage devices?

Secondary hard drives, usb flash drives, removable hard drives, cd, dvd, zip disks, floppy disks, mini discs, ect.

Where is secondary storage found?

It depends on the Location whether ur selected In C:/ , D:/ and E:/ . by default it 'll stores in Documents .

What is a data storage device?

A storage device is piece of hardware which is used to store and save digital data.

Typical examples of which are hard drives, Floppy disks CDs and DVDs, which are used in computers, ipods and Personal Video Recorders.

What storage device uses aluminum platters for storing data?

A hard disk drive (HDD) uses aluminum platters to store data. These platters are coated with a magnetic material, allowing data to be written and read by read/write heads that move across the surfaces. HDDs are commonly used for both personal and enterprise-level data storage due to their capacity and cost-effectiveness.

Why are many motion pictures still released on DVD instead of bd-rom?

The market for bd-ROM is still small. Many more people have DVD players. Also a high def source may not be available, making the benefits of a bd-ROM release negligible

Which storage device doesnt allow the data on it to be erased or rewritten?

What is the name of the storagr device that does not allow the data on it to be erased or re written

What is the difference between secondary storage and disk?

Depending on the model you are using, it depends on what you mean.

Typically, most models have primary storage as the Hard Drive (or now, Solid State drive may be as well), a type of nonvolatile storage whose data does not disappear if it is unplugged or loses power.

Secondary storage usually refers to things such as CDs, DVDs, Floppy, Zip, and Tape drives. However in some textbooks it may just mean a second HDD/SSD.

Tertiary storage pretty strictly refers to CDs, DVDs, etc.

How much do a floppy disk drive cost?

Floppy disks are seldom sold individually. Depending on the bulk number you purchase, the price per floppy is generally $0.75 to $1.00 USD.

DVD writer does not write on DVD?

It could be that the writing lens is dirty. You can try a DVD drive cleaning kit.

If a simple cleaning does not help then the software and or drivers for the DVD drive may not be working correctly. Download and install the latest DVD drivers and DVD burning software updates for your system.

What happens to anything in the RAM when you turn off your computer?

RAM is temporray storage for aplacations that are cerently open when power is off RAM is reset

How segment register are used?

The segment register in the 80806/8088 microprocessor contains the base address (divided by 16) of a region of memory. Since the register is 16 bits in size, there are 65,536 possible segment base addresses, ranging from 00000H to FFFF0H, in increments of 00010H.

After address translation at the instruction level, the generated 16 bit offset is added to the selected segment register times 16 to generate a physical address between 00000H and FFFFFH. (If the offset and base go past FFFFFH, they wrap around back to 00000H.) Since the offset is also 16 bits in size, and since the overlap is only 4 bits (times 16), then each 64 kb segment overlaps by 16 bytes.

There are four segment registers; CS, DS, ES, and SS, standing for Code Segment, Data Segment, Extra Segment, and Stack Segment.

CS is used for opcode fetches. DS is used for normal data. ES is used for certain string operations as the destination address. SS is used for stack and frame (BP) data.

The segment registers can be implicitly selected by context, or they can be explicitly selected with a segment prefix opcode.

Reset password of a mini SDumesh?

The SD card has the passwords enforced at the electronics level and it is hard to crack the password with software brute-forcing tools. (SD stands for Secure digital, if you are a tech person see the section about passwords in the document : www.sdcard.org/developers/tech/sdcard/pls/Simplified_Physical_Layer_Spec.pdf )

there are hardware reset tools, and most will cost you as much as buying a new memory card.

if you have used the memory card with a phone or other devices which stores the sd password internally, [to avoid prompting for the password every time], there is a narrow chance you can recover it from the device. there is an article of this sort at sdrecover.in

below are posts by other members, i do not think any of them will work, you can give your try and update the answer here if you are successful.

get a memory card reader and link it to you computer when you do that go search the root files and look for a file called mmc. when you find the file it will have a bunch of symbols and lines look for any sequence of numbers/letters then enter it on you phone. the other thing is you can go and format the memory stick but the only problem about this is that some phones require that you give them a pass before formatting so that might not work

buy new one...

I had this problem too, inserted in a Nokia N73 and formates it by Tool>Memory>Format memory car

me think it's the easiest way

cause I dont think there would be a program find it or with out erasing the data no result found in search

OR

format using your computer

What relates bit byte nibble and word?

A Byte is a unit of memory on a computer equaling 8 bits.

A Word a fixed sized unit of memory on a computer handled as a unit by the instruction set or the hardware of the processor (it is an important characteristic of any specific processor design or computer architecture) it will normally be a multiple of bytes. Modern processors usually have a word size of 1, 2, 4, or 8 bytes - (8, 16, 32, or 64 bits).

Which storage is temporary?

Temporary storage is usually referring to RAM -- Random Access Memory. Data stored in RAM only exists while the computer has power (nothing is saved).

What is the best blank DVD?

Best Blank DVDMost people say that Taiyo Yuden blanks are the very best as long as you don't buy the "economy" version. I've had great success with the higher-end Verbatim DVD-R as well.

Taiyo Yuden used to be the industry standard but since they have been taken over by JVC, their quality is terrible. I used to be able to burn 8X rated TY DVD-R discs at 16X and get an overall quality score of 99.2 to 99.3 with DVD Info Pro. I just opened my first spindle of the JVC-Taiyo Yuden DVD-Rs. The first thing I noticed is that the media will not allow burning at a speed greater than 12X. Then I tried burning the same disk 3 times, once at 12X, 8X and 4X. The quality score of all three DVDs was 96 or less (marginal to poor). Until JVC butts out and lets Taiyo Yuden do what they do best, I'll be switching to Verbatim as that is the only other brand I have had good luck with of late.

By the way, these are the 'premium' blanks, not the value line...

What is the overall trend in secondary storage device?

The overall trend in secondary storage device is the migration from rotating magnetic discs to solid state storage. Solid state drives (SSD's) are however considerably more costly than older types of storage.

How much storage space does a CD have?

Now a days, different CD i.e. compact disc with different capacities are now available in the market. Usually the storage capacity of a CD is 700 MB.

What is 120mb?

A MB (MegaByte) equals 1048576 bytes (B) or 1024 KiloBytes (KB). or 0,00098 GigaByte (GB).

So 120 MB = 125829120 B or 122880 KB or 0.11719 GB

Which device on the computer can store data in long term?

Harddisk stores data for long term, it is also said as rom.
