Well the two main political leaders that i know of are Jefferson and Hamilton. Hamilton was a federalist and he had different plans for shaping the economy and during the French revolution he thought they should suck up to the English rather than the french because he thought the french had no chance in winning the war. Jefferson on the other hand was republican and also had different plans for economic growth he belived that America should focus more on agricultural products rather than industrial. Also during the french revolution he thought American should give France special treatment since the English treated the colonists inferior to them.
