This is now suspected to raise the prevalence of oral cancer. I would at least get the initial whitening trays customized by a dentist. They keep the bleach on the tooth itself. Then again, isn`t it crazy to put the equivalent of a bathtub cleaner in one`s mouth?

Keflex and Penicilan are used pretty often, however, you should let a dentist prescribe it for you. Infections are not something to mess around with because they can get in your bloodstream and make you very ill. It is even possible for the infection to reach your heart and kill you. gums will only "pull away" from teeth if bacteria is present between the gingiva (gum) and tooth surface, or you are brushing too hard! If you havent been brushing at least twice a day and flossing once a day, you should start before your teeth fall out!

The most likely cause of this feeling is just what you have said: swelling. If you didn't ice your cheeks and jaw around the site of the extraction, swelling will occur for a day or so. Another less likely possibility is that during the extraction a nerve was hit, which could result in losing some feeling in the area, making it seem feel like your gums and cheeks are together. If the feeling doesn't go away after another day or two, talk to your dentist/oral surgeon about it.

I just had my lower two impacted wisdom teeth removed and I'm 32 years old !! I would expect at least 7-10 days of swelling and soreness and mild bleeding to occur the first 24-48 hours after surgery. If you take care of the extraction sites and follow the dentists post-op instructions, the healing time is quicker, or at least it goes smoother and you have a smaller chance of infection.

Every one's mouth is different and so is the nauture of the procedure. A more difficult extraction will require a longer recovery period.

All in all, it's going to be sore, it's going to be uncomfortable, the ears and cheeks might hurt a bit, and overall allow at least a week to work through all the soreness and swelling that is involved with any surgery.
