So the leading causes for attempted suicide in one's teens (and the attendant risk of a successful suicide) include; the patient is female; the patient is depressed or suffers from a personality disorder; the patient is anorexic; and the patient has a history of sexual abuse.

Your psycologist is a fool or you misquoted them... marijuana does not cause schizophenia, however it can certainly agravate an underlying disorder. It makes sense that a substance that can increase paranoia would not have a good outcome with a person who is mentally unstable or vulnerable.

no, it cannot be prevented. bipolar disorder is something you are born with. it seems to run in families but can skip generations. it is a chemical imbalance in your brain and can be treated with medication and counseling.

Try to be clear in your mind about what is upsetting you and why you feel depressed. Talk to an adult that you trust. This could be an older brother or sister, parent, teacher, aunt, uncle, grandparent etc... They should be able to help you. You shouldn't be feeling like this anyway. You are not a waste of space. Everybody is equal in the world and they all bring the same values. Focus on what you are good at and pay less attention to what you are not.

If you are on medication, be sure to take it. If you are not, see a doctor. Depression is usually a treatable condition. Enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy the sky and sunshine and clouds, rain, and wind.

I agree with the person above it might be hormones, you might be going through that stage. Every girl does. But tell your mom how you feel. Holding it in does not help.. My brother and I use to do that and it turned to anger, into depression and then into suicidal... My bro finally told my dad, and i finally did a couple of days ago... He is so sad that i didnt tell him how i felt. And he said if i feel the same way in a couple of days that he is taking me to the doctors to see whats wrong and to put me on meds.. So tell your mom how you feel its the best thing to do. because if you dont then you wont get better

Three days ago, I underwent electrocautery and chemical cautery with silver nitrate in my nose.

Permanent fix to my never-ending nosebleeds. But, excruciating. Extremely painful.

it is probably not connected with any given chromosome. i suspect it involves dozens or even hundreds of different genes scattered over the chromosomes, and the allele of each gene that causes bipolar when you get many of them is the same one that gives a person with only a few some unusual ability that is very advantageous. i believe that any genetic attempt to eliminate bipolar would severely harm the human species!
