Is Brown discharge during 6th week of pregnancy normal?
If you know for sure that you are pregnant, it is probably not going to be your period, although some women have experienced a "first" period then learns a couple of weeks later that they really are pregnant. It is possible that it could be implantation bleeding caused by the fertilized egg to attach itself to the uterine wall. Or it could be a cervical change that can cause vaginal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding can also be a symptom of ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. Another cause for bleeding during pregnancy is a miscarriage although the first two reasons for bleeding are more common, it is still a good idea to contact your doctor.
If you missed your period for 2 months and it is not normal for you than yes you are probably pregnant and if you have a white smelly discharge you may have a yeast infection if you are pregnant and you do have an infection it can cause a miscarriage, you should see your doctor.

Is vaginal discharge a sign of pregnancy?
No. Many women of all ages can have this problem. Some women due to their chemistry just don't produce enough discharge and when they have intercourse they usually have to get KY jelly from their pharmacist to lubricate. Women who are pregnant, women who have yeast infections and women who are going into peri menopause and then into menopause usually have this problem (thus, more frequent infections.) Take showers and not baths. By sitting in warm to hot water with even bubble bath in the water dries out this delicate area. Don't go into hot tubs (on occasion is OK.) Don't wear nylon panties, but get some of those fashionable cotten panties (some nylon panties will have a cottage crotch and that's OK) and if you wear nylons to work, try not too if you can. Buy "leg coloring" and go that route. Also, wearing tight clothing such as jeans or shorts can cause you more irritability in this area. There are, in fact, two reasons that can cause vaginal dryness when having intercourse during pregnancy. The first is physical, and the second is mental. When women are aroused, their testosterone levels peak or surge resulting in an increased discharge of vaginal fluids. During pregnancy, you are obviously not producing as much testosterone. This can result in a lessened ability to produce these fluids. However, more often, women experience a great deal of psychological changes during pregnancy, which brings us to the later of possible causes, mental. It
Yes, but its like eating pus from another wound on your body. Also you should be careful as the reason for the discharge is important, if it is an fungal infection then eating the discharge may give you a fungal infection on your mouth. It's kind of gross anyways.
Is it safe to use a nicotine patch during pregnancy?
Reseachers have concluded that the patch is safe during pregnancy. A study has found that patches are less dangerous than smoking for a baby's health. I'm not certain if all patches are safe, so I would consult with your doctor on which one is best for you. Stacey
I'm was a 2 pack a day smoker. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, about 6 weeks,I went to my doctor. He said that due to my stressful life that if I quit smoking I could put stress on the fetus and end up loosing my baby. He put me on the nicotine patch and told me to stay with that for the rest of my pregnany. Dr. said that "1 chemical- Nicotine, is better than the hundereds of toxic chemicals you get when smoking." I followed the patch instructions and weaned myself from step 1, to 2 then 3. About 2 weeks before I had my child was done w/the patch. He's now a healthy 5 yr old boy and I'm pregnant w/my 2nd child now. Unfortuantely I started smoking again after my 1'st child, so I'm weaning myself again. Hopefully I can stay a non-smoker after I have this child.
I just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant and I asked the OB nurse over the phone if I could use a nicotine patch, she checked with the doctor and he said No. I would think that one chemical is better than all the others, but my plan to quit just went up in smoke (so to speak!). I have tried to go cold turkey in the past and failed. But, I did quit for 3 years by using the patch. Anybody have anymore stories or advice?
You asked for advice, so I will tell you what helped me. I was about four weeks into my pregnancy with my daughter when I found out I was pregnant. I quit cold turkey, and I did it by photocopying pictures of smokey lungs (and posting them), and writing a letter to my unborn child, telling her how much I love her, and that I loved her enough to do what's best for her. Dealing with the withdrawal was hard the first week, but I scheduled myself to do other things, like cleaning, grocery shopping. Whenever I wanted a cigarette, I changed my activity and did something else to get my mind off of it. Sit down, and make a list of things that you enjoy doing, if possible to distract you. I also found crochet to be very good, because it occupied my hands, and hard candy helped with the oral fixation. I know it's hard, and to reinforce your choice to not smoke, photocopy portions of your baby books, or go onlinne, to get specific pages that tell you why smoking is bad for your baby. Think of all the positives, of never going back, such as being around for your kid's wedding. My father has lung caner, and it isn't pretty. Seize the day and have a positive outlook, and you will do fine. Good luck to you
