if its a 3.5 liter it may have a dropped or broken rocker arm pedestal pin.this allows the rocker arm to turn and lose oil to the lifters usually can be heard on one side of the engine

Inside trunk, near the spare tire, there is a power distribution module (fuse box with circuit breakers and relays).
Sunroof fuse is a 20Amp fuse in this box.
It is the one from the set of 3, on right bottom side, adjacent to the third relay from bottom right. (1st fuse slot from right bottom corner)

Make sure the engine is cold. Get a 13mm socket with long extension.


Get a large Ziploc bag. Place the bag under the top radiator hose at the engine. Loosen the bolts and capture the fluid that spills out into the bag. Next pry the thermostat out using a flat blade screwdriver and capture the fluid that comes out. Save this for later.


Now remove the rubber gasket around the edge of the old thermostat. Put this gasket carefully on your new thermostat. Press this into the opening (wiggle it a bit as needed) with the jiggle pin at the top (if it has one).

Replace the therrmostat housing (13 mm bolts) and tighten.

Remove the expansion tank cap.

Pour the captured fluid back in.

none theirs a seat belt recall in Canada and a tsb for road wander on the early models that requires a cradle shift

The engine has to be tore down, block may have to be honed and rebuilt. You have to use a ring expander and the grooves have to be a certain way so they are not aligned, this is not a job for a novice. Rings break easily so it takes an experienced hand.

Most oil guages will fluctuate with engine rpm as the pressure increases & decreases. If this is something new then you may want to replace the switch for the guage and while you have it out you could put a mechanical guage in the hole (hose, guage & adapter is needed) and check the pressure to be sure the pump is o/k. Make sure that the oil is clean and it's up to the proper level on the dipstick.

no there is not a recall

You have to buy a special tool, i bought mine online. It's a steel cable with a little dipstick on the end that measure in MM. You can't just check the fluid level and add some, the temperature plays a big part in the measuring. I have an 05 Magnum with the 4 spd tranny and just changed my fluid and filter last month.

As bizarre as it sounds .. these are the measurments I get at different times (I dont have the $10000 machine to read the temp like the dealer).

Outside temp was between 50-60 degrees

Car sat overnight - reading 60mm

Ran a couple minutes until rpms came down - reading at 18mm

Ran 15 minutes around the block up hill - reading at 35 mm

Ran 1 hour (home from work) - reading at 45 mm

When I drained the fluid I measured what came out (4.5qts) and put 4 qts back in. Checked the measurements sitting (cold) and ran for 15 minutes. New readings were a little low, so I put the other 1/2 qt in. Now my measurements are the same as before and car runs great.

It is a dealer check only. Dodge was having trouble with people adding too much or the wrong kind of transmission fluid so they removed the dip stick.

Yes they can, but with some modifications. You need to install extended front spindles (or have the stock ones professionally extended - Specialty welding/ Fab shop). You will likely need to remove your inner fender liners and roll your fenders and trim your bumpers. You don't need to lift your magnum!! they make 275/25/26 and 255/30/26 tires now specifically for these cars. I know it can be done since my magnum is lowered 2" on 26" wheels (wouldn't recommend the extra work to lower on 26" wheels) . Hope this helps :)

For the Magnum SXT it only has one battery and it is in the rear compartment next to the spare tire.

According to the manual, the dipstick was not included. The dealer should check the fluid level if you notice a leak.
It is a special tool that Chrysler only sells to the dealers.

This happen to me.. and the answer is quite simple. Take to butter knives and insert them into the c/d slot opening like clamp the disk and pull out..
