Why is engineering called a stealth profession?
Engineering is often called a "stealth profession" because its impact is frequently invisible to the public eye, despite being fundamental to many aspects of modern life. Engineers work behind the scenes to design, create, and optimize systems, structures, and technologies that shape our daily experiences. Their contributions are often taken for granted, making their work less visible compared to more public-facing professions. This lack of recognition can lead to a general underappreciation of the essential role engineers play in driving innovation and societal advancement.
If your tranny shifter knob starts bouncing back and forth when you get on and off the gas in 5th gear, you probably have a nut loose on the 5th gear assembly. It's a simple fix, as long as you don't procrastinate. 1) Safely jack up the front of the car.
2) Take off the front passenger tire and splash guard
3) Remove the tranny end cap
4) Replace the lock nut, reassemble, top off tranny fluid. However, if it is already jumping completely out of 5th gear, you may have waited too long, and there may be much more damage - including shavings in your tranny. When you take off the end cap, inspect it to see if there's any damage to the inside.
Is your Speedometer working? It's possible a speed sensor is bad causing the Computers to go into LIMP mode.

Where is the ecu on a dodge stealth and how do you reset it?
Well, don't worry about "where" it is...because if you don't know where it is you don't need to be messing with it ;) Resetting it does not involve touching the computer itself. Just take off the negative and positive (positive first) terminals off of your battery. Get back into your car and pump the brakes to the floor 3-4 times to expend any remaining power via your brake lights. Leave the terminals off for 10-15 minutes. Reconnect negative first then positive and enjoy a smoother running car.
Actually dude, You only need to keep the terminals off for approx. 10 seconds. It says so right in the manual, and on both Dave Black's and Jeff Lucius's websites. Both are invaluable resources for 3kgt and Stealths
Dude never ever remove the positive wire on the battery first it causes a bigger spark and if there is anything flamable around your screwed always remove the negetive first and reconnect the positive first and then the negetive
If you really want to get at the ECU (located behind radio). Remove the carpeted panels on each side of the console, under the dash. There will be 3 small 10mm bolts holding it in, and 3 wire harnesses connected.
How do you check fuel pump 1992 dodge stealth?
All you have to do is put your key in the ignition and turn it not all the way to start but to where all the electronics work and the lights on the dash light up. Listen for a humming noise behind you toward the trunk. If you hear that humming noise for a second or two then your fuel pump works. Check your fuel filter and or injectors they may just be dirty.
check your eci fuse. pull one of your spark plugs, and keep the wire on the plug. crank the car to see if you have spark. if no spark, check the fuse first. it is a 20 located on the passenger side wheel housing in the front. if that is not the problem, the ignition control module could be next, coils, spark plugs, or your timing.
Your engine computer has died. When mine went a little puff of smoke rose almost dead center on the windshield. The earlier generation Stealths / 3000gts used electrolytic caps which had a 7 year life. Some of them lasted much longer. Like yours, for example. I'm shopping for a repair service now. The common deal looks like it'll cost $275. Let me know if you find a good deal!
Can you put a turbo on dodge stealth?
you can put a turbo on a stealth but if the engine is made to be NA (naturally aspirated) then it would reqire a lot of work by a trained mechanic
it would be cheaper to buy the R/t twin turbo edition of the car n just put bigger turbos on
Where is the thermostat located on a 1991 dodge stealth?
Under coolant fill, in the thermostat housing, rear of engine (middle of engine bay) above trans/engine seam
Where is the Ignition Control Module located in a 1992 base model Dodge Stealth?
On a 1992 Dodge Stealth Base model with a 3.0 Liter Engine It is located in the base of the Distributer, it has four wires connected to it via a molded plug. this is a source of many problems with a 1992 Stealth. The plug is located right next to the Power steering High presure hose, and on my stealth was chafed in two. It is very hard to see this problem until it is unplugged from distributer.
It's possible, but if you turned the engine off/put the tranny in neutral immediatly, you should be ok. Replace the belt and turn the engine over a couple of times (avoid starting, if possible) with a friend standing over/near the engine. If they don't hear and wierd noises (odd ticks or clicks), start her up. Listen carefully, if you don't hear anything out of the ordinary - you should be good to go.
