He's distracted, excited, or it's not time to go. Don't let him play, keep him on a leash and give a command like, "Go Potty." If he doesn't go, take him back inside and try again in 10-15 minutes. When he does go, really praise him.

I used trainpetdog program tutorials so I can do the training itself. I would rather facilitate the training than hire someone else. Training your own dog has been proven to build a special bond between you and your dog. So I would suggest a home tutorial so you can do it yourself.

A damp ear is a perfect breeding ground for fungus or bacteria, especially for dogs with ear flaps (ears that hang down). When bathing your dog, be sure to not let water into the ears--use cotton to block the ear canal. If your dog's a swimmer, use a towel and then some cotton balls to dry the ears.

I don't know if it is officially illegal, but why would you do it? When cropping a dogs' ears, they're taking to the vet and put under anesthetic, so they don't feel pain.
Some people chop their dogs ears off or cut them off with scissors are being very stupid; the dogs are in pain for days and the ears don't heal properly.
Please, If you get your dog's ears cropped--go to a vet.
Besides, if someone finds out you cut your dog's ears off you can get in deep trouble; it is considered animal cruelty.

It sounds like any other dog's bark...nothing special.

Keep it hydrated and bring it to the Vet.

If a mother dog won't nurse, or can't produce enough milk for her litter there are puppy milk replacement formulas (such as powdered Esbilac formula) available at larger pet stores, or from a vet's office. You should not use cow's milk to feed puppies.

A home-made puppy formula can be made:

One 10oz. can of whole goat's milk is acceptable, but not straight out of the can.

3 oz. sterilized water

1 raw egg yolk

1 cup of plain yogurt (not skim or fat free)

1/2 Tsp Karo Syrup or Corn Syrup (NO HONEY!)

Place ingredients in a blender and blend or use a wire whisk. Be careful to not over blend and create a milk shake full of bubbles.

Warm formula to body temperature (dogs are around 101 degrees). Discard any un-used formula. This is a thick mixture - use a stomach tube to tube feed or enlarge the hole in the nipple for easy access for the pup. Store formula in the fridge and discard leftovers after 7 days.

If at all possible, you should let new born pups nurse as soon as possible, so they can receive Colostrum. Colostrum is the milk that the mother produces the first days after birth. It is very thick, yellowish-cream in color, and rich in antibodies that protect the puppy against disease.

Your vet can show you the correct way to bottle feed the pups, if you don't know how.

The key to training a dog to do anything is repetition. If your dog is one of the few that doesn't bark when someone knocks, don't worry. You should be able to train him or her to do so in a short amount of time.

The first thing you need to do is train your dog to speak on command. A simple way of doing this is to restrain your dog, in a safe way, of course, and call his or her name. When they get frustrated because they can't get to you, they will bark. Once they bark, you need to immediately praise him or her and give a treat. Continue this until you can get the dog to speak without being constrained.

Then, use the speak command when someone knocks at the door. You may want to get someone to help you for this part. Every time the dog barks at the knock on the door, give praise by you and your helper.

Your dog will quickly learn to bark when someone knocks.

They shed but not badly since they are short-haired dogs. If it's a pit bull mix, it may shed more if it was mixed with a longer haired dog. Pit bulls are awesome dogs!

This is a common behavior exhibited in canines. It is called coprophagia. Although the behavior is not generally harmful, it is oftentimes difficult to live with and gives new meaning to dog breath. There is an effective product on the market today that is in the form of a tasty, chewable tablet for dogs. This product makes the stool undesirable for dogs due to the odor of the stool. It comes highly recommended.

Dogs and cats will generally eat grass if they have an upset stomach. If it's a puppy the dog may eat bark or bushes because they are teething. Some dogs do it just for fun and there is really no nutritional value in it. My 7 month old pup will get pieces of bark and bring it in the house and flip it around and one time he even brought in a large branch off a tree! If you are talking about humping, I have an answer. The dog sees you as part of it's pack and is demonstrating that he is dominant over you. He doesn't really expect to mate with you.

You see dogs can only see black and white. So when they do that there not necarsarly smelling there just puting there nose there. Due to the don"t know if you"re a girl or boy. So when they feel there they can feel the shape of it and know.

There are several possible causes:

Most obviously, you need to check that the dog is being fed enough for its weight (assuming that it's not overweight and needing to diet). Weigh the dog and check on the dog food pack/tin that the amount you are giving is sufficient.

The dog may have worms; they live in the dog's gut and use up a significant proportion of the dog's food intake. Regular worming tablets will prevent this.

It's common for spayed bitches to be constantly hungry, in which case it may be worth getting veterinary advice about foods that help with this, without creating an overweight dog.

It's also possible that the dog has simply been allowed to get into bad habits - if you regularly feed it scraps even after it's been fed with its own food, it will learn to expect that food every meal time. Getting the dog out of that will require consistent retraining.

Failing any of the above, it may be worth a trip to the vet to rule out more serious (but MUCH less common) causes.

Start with a chair and your dog on a down. If the chair is the correct height, he will not be able to stand under it. If you have a very small dog, find something else that is just a little higher than your dog when he is lying down to work with. Lure his nose under the chair with a treat. Let him nibble the treat but do not let him have the whole thing. Say, "crawl," and slowly draw the treat forward. He will have to crawl forward in order to keep nibbling the treat. When he'll willingly crawl under the chair for a treat without being lured anymore, you can stop using the chair. If he forgets to crawl, simply go back to using the chair a few more times to remind him what "crawl" means.

What worked for my new dog was everytime you see your puppy "squat" or walk around and sniff, take the dog outside and sit him in the grass. If the dog has to go, he will go. Then reward your puppy with a treat. You will have to repeat this process for as long as your puppy gets use to it. Everytime they go outside, give your dog a treat. Repeat this everytime and eventually the dog will go to the door when he has to potty. If he still does it in the house, roll up a newspaper and give them a "love tap" on the buttox and set him outside again. Good Luck! ; )

Sometimes dogs purposely pee in order to get your attention. If your dog has not had its share of attention, a leak on the floor will angrilly express that they're angry at you. If you haven't taken them out for their morning walk, some piddle will explain it. Make sure that your dog has no reason to have an "accident". If they still do it, its because they probably haven't learned yet that bathroom trips are to be taken outside. Give your dog plenty of time to romp around and use the restroom in the outdoors instead of cooping them up inside and expecting them to learn. If you're busy for most of the day, leave pads in the house for your dog to use instead of having to go out on a walk. Remember: it's still good to give your dog fresh air.

But still, some dogs never become fully house-broken. I know several dogs that still can't remember to use their pads or the grass outside and have accidents after years and years of training.

There are a few tricks to stop this, but remember patience is key as they are just babies and not very bright yet. The easiest thing to do is give him a toy everytime he starts biting, as he could be teething and just needs to chew! Wetting and then freezing a wash cloth is very helpful (if he is just teething).

If he is biting for no other reason than just to bite than try this: when he bites you grab his muzzle (gently!) and say no bites, or whatever you want to use, and release but keep your hand near his mouth. He will probably bite again but continue this until he finally stops biting and licks. Always praise him when he licks, even if he bites right after, at least he sort of gets it! Good luck, it takes some time just be patient and consistent - with this and all other training!

The same way the doctors check if your new baby is a boy or a girl.

If the dog refuses to eat and there is no symptoms like vomiting or the scours then give him a little longer but not to exceed 5 days and if he still isn't eating or drinking consult you local vet

yes, dogs do that all the time!! ,they also bark with a toy in their mouth or while eating or drinking, but not all dogs can do this....but the bark is not as loud as it would be if the dog did not have a empty or open mouth

a good way to get your dog in the water to swim is to play with him in the edge throwing the toy and make him go after it. After getting hiim exited in the game all of a sudden change and throw the toy in the water but not too far. This has never failed me.

Puppies are usually not even tested for heartworms if they are under six months of age; vets will begin heart worm preventive meds then (also a good age for spay/neuter). Unfortunately, older dogs that do have heartworms will not show symptoms until the parasites are well established within the heart, such as coughing, malaise, rapid breathing, etc. The actual blood test is for the larvae produced by adult heartworms. A puppy that is infested with other worms (round, whip and tapewoms) may have similar symptoms such as the rapid breathing and tiring easily, and will also have very pale gums due to the anemia from blood loss because of the parasites.
