You have had yours for two more years than the average life expectancy, which is lucky. But now your dog is simply finding things a lot more tiring because their body has aged, so they will sleep more.

It's not ideal. If necessary, you may need to put a cone around the dog's neck to prevent this until the wound knits. You can get safety cones at your vet's office.

They can't talk because they do not have the right vocal cords. Parrots, on the other hand are lucky enough to be able to communicate through speech. Dogs unfortunately do not have aposable thumbs like primates or vocal cords that produce speech. They do understand commands, why not say something when we ask? Parrots are not just mimicers. They comprehend many basic things. They have the learning capability of a 5 year old child.

take a regular thermometer and put special gel on it (you can usually buy from vet) after that stick into dogs bottom take out thermometer when it beeps clean it really good afterwards

Not every dog drools, but many dogs do. When dogs salivate, the saliva can drool out the corners of their flues if they have loose or baggy flues: unlike humans, dogs cannot pucker or close their lips (flues) tightly. Salivation an be triggered by something that the dog wants to eat, or it may simply happen naturally throughout the day, depending on the breed.

It may not have anything to do with the urine. Usually when there is a fishy smell, the Anal Glands are full and they need to be emptied, by a vet. The Anal Glands normally get emptied out, when the dog goes poop, but sometimes they get clogged and need to be emptied. It's a very easy procedure for the vet to do, and it is not at all expensive. You can do it yourself, but the first time it's always better to have a vet show you how, so the next time they need to be emptied, you can do it yourself. The reason a vet has to show you, is because they have to be emptied a certain way, in order not to cause injury to the dog. Usually with Anal Glands, people prefer to have a vet do it, because it is very messy to dog, and it really stinks when you do it. When I take my Chihuahuas to the vet, to get their Anal Glands expressed, it costs me under $20. I think it's a lot easier, for them to do it!

YES!!! Every animal I have ever had from chickens to cats to dogs all had different personalities. For instance, I had two dogs from the same litter, one was very friendly and wanted to be petted by anyone that came in the door. The other one would hide until company was gone.

It really depends on the person, but I personally think that dogs are better. Dogs are loyal, and stay with you. Cats roam around doing whatever they want. Plus, there are lots of good breeds of dogs to choose from, from Maltese to labrador. My dog, who is a pomeranian (and a really adorable one, too) would make a great companian. Whenever I come home, he barks as if he's welcoming me, which is kind of cute. Cats, on the other hand don't make a great companion. If I got to choose between a cat and a dog, I would certainly go for the dog. Plus, dogs are obediant, and, if they're a well- mannered dog, they will never bite, or hurt you. hope you choose a dog :D
