Happy hunting!
ronically, it was a common form of entertainment for police officers & firemen-the "Police Gazette" served as a major source of information on dog fighting for many years.
They chew rocks because they can and they are bored. Rock chewing can be dangerous if they swallow the rocks. You need to have lots of dog safe toys around your dog such as Nylabones, hard rubber toys made for dogs, two socks tied together, etc. Another good idea is to take your dog for a daily walk for at least 20-30 minutes, start out slow and build up to a nice fast paced walk, will work wonders for your dog mentally & physically (and you too).
Enter him and yourself into a obedience class, check with your Veterinarian or the local Animal Shelter or Pound for the nearest obedience class. Join your local dog club and enjoy your dog doing agility, etc. The list is endless.
It really depends how you train and act towards your dog, so they really all chew the same amount but just depends on how you treat them.
I don't know, but i have had dogs eat my cat's poop before, so be careful! YUM!
Dogs can be trained to use a litter box with a short (about 1 inch high) edge, but they do not like to hop over large sides. Also, dogs prefer to go on a "wee wee pad," instead of in litter.
No.
They have four and I can prove it with a little syllogism:
no dog has three noses.
Every dog has one more nose than no dog.
Therefore every dog has four noses.
No a dog has only one nose and you can prove it by adopting a dog.
Is it just dogs who do that? My 14 year old son seems to do it too.
Can puppies be left alone for 3 - 4 hours?
if the pup is in a crate and confined yes. but you should know for every month the puppy is , the lenght of time it is able to hold its urine is the equivelentin hours. for example 1 month= 1 hour 2 months=2hours 3months = 3 hours and so on.
How do you stop a puppy from biting when other toys don't work?
I just went through this myself with a little male Cockapoo x terrier. He's a sweet dog, but chewed and could even be pretty rough if I played with him. There are babies so I went out and got a HARD BABY SOOTHER and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes and then gave it to him. He love it and chewed on it for long lengths of time! It soothed his gums and gave him something to bite on. WARNING: Be sure you don't get the soothers that are soft and have water or other liquid in them. The hard rubber ones with flexible points are the ones to get. It's important you get on the floor and play with your pup. Whether puppies or adult dogs they love you to get down on the ground at their level and my husband and I still do that with our 2 dogs usually in the evening. Teach him/her to play ball, rub it's tummy, constantly tell it he/she is a good boy or girl and give a lot of encouragement. Slippers, pillows, etc., are out of bounds and if the pup is insistent then tap him/her on the nose with two fingers (not too hard) and say "shame!" They get the message loud and clear. Playing with your pup keeps their little minds active and away from destroying your furniture, shoes, etc. Puppies need to go to the bathroom approx. 15 - 20 minutes after drinking or eating so if you miss it and they make a mistake give yourself a kick in the butt and don't scold the pup. I use both paper (for emergencies) and outside I never leave my puppy alone outside until he is a bit older) and it works well. Praising your dog for the good he/she does is most important and don't forget ... play and give the pup lots of love and security. You are the boss!
How much money should you get for dog training?
The answer depends on the type of training. Obedience classes are usually around $100 but private training is much more. It also depends on where you are located.
Why teach my puppy to use puppy pee pads instead of just going outside?
It depends if you have cold weather and you have a small dog. The dog might not want to go outside into the really cold weather. That's why people would use the pee pad. Going outside you need to teach them to let you know when the go to go. My opinion you might want to teach the puppy both so when its to cold to go outside it can use the pee pad.
What episode Cesar millan got bitten by holly?
Shelter Dog Holly is the title of the Dog Whisperer episode in which Cesar Millan received a bite on the hand from an aggressive shelter dog named Holly. The episode aired in the ninth season of the series.
How do you get your dog to pee outside?
You don't. Use a bell on your door to train the dog to go outside. Hang it low so the dog can hit it with his/her nose. Gently tap the dogs nose on the bell and immediately take the dog outside where you want him/her to go. Do not play, etc., this is all business. In the beginning, do it as many times a day as you can. Reward the dog when you come back in even if they don't go. Be careful though because it does not take long for puppy to figure out that ringing the bell results in reward, i.e. another TREAT! I was having difficulty training my German Shepard puppy (would not go on paper, etc.) and this method worked. Within 3 days my dog was trained and for 11 years never had an accident in the house. Good Luck!

How do you keep your dog to stay in his outdoor kennel?
Each dog, or family of dogs, has their own private indoor/outdoor run combo. The
spacious climate controlled 4'x 6' indoor areas are connected by magnetic vinyl dog
doors to the 4'x 12' outdoor runs so your pet(s) can come in and out as they please. The
provision of a separate sleeping area and an exercise run gives flexibility for the dog,
and the larger kennel will allow more choice of places to rest, play & explore, thus
reducing stress in your pet while he or she is being kenneled. Each outside run provides
plenty of fresh air and sunshine in the morning and early afternoon hours, as well as
physical exercise. Also available is an outdoor only kennel for dogs that are accustomed
to being outdoors year around. This kennel has an extra large Igloo doghouse for
shelter. During the winter months, an electric heated bed is available
as well as an electric water bucket to keep the water at a comfortable
temperature. Complimentary departure baths are offered for dogs that are
boarded for 4 nights or longer, please inquire at check in. Free pick up and
delivery in the Winfield city limits. Check out my questions page to see other services
that are offered. Any damages done to kennel property by dogs being boarded are to
be paid by owner.
When crate training do you put the crate near you at night?
In my opinion you should start with the dog crate next to you, and start moving it away from you little by little.

Why does a dog always leave his droppings on the same place where you do not want it to go?
Dogs have a very keen sense of smell, and that is the spot they originally chose, so they will go back to the same spot. This, in a dogs mind is their territory to eliminate on. If you want your dog to go in a different spot, take some of his feces from the original spot and place it, in the spot you choose. Next time your dog has to go, take him directly to your chosen spot and he will firstly smell this spot, then he will go. For the first little while you will have to be consistent in taking him to your chosen spot. Over time he will get the hang of it, to in fact go on the spot you chose. Here's two more tips for "Scoop the Poop." If the dog has gone on your carpet, clean it well and then spray vinegar on it. This dilutes the smell and he won't remember where it is. You can also use a little pepper in that one spot and it only takes one snort of this to deter him from going in that same spot. The other post had a good idea too, but if you have a male dog they are super stubborn and although they may go on the paper they will still remember that one spot. Rascals aren't they! Both Posts are super excellent and helpful. I have had this problem and used a spray for carpets called "Natures Miracle" Try it!!!!
Either invest in a smaller crate, or block off a part of a larger crate to make the dogs space smaller. The dog will start the think of the crate as is bedroom, and it won't want to go to the bathroom in its bedroom. If there is room for the dog to go to the bathroom and then lay in another area where it can stay away from the feces, the crate is too big. Dogs do not want to lay in their own feces, so a small crate would help to curb this habit.
