I would say a fish.

At first, my first impression would be a bird, since the two fly.

But when you think about it, a fish makes much more sense; dragonfies love the water! Infact larger bodies of water is where you'll find the most dragonflies, Lakes, ponds, even some fountains and swimming pools. Whether they're zipping along the ripples or sitting still on the water's surface, I would vote fish.

Dragonflies eat many small insects. Some include mosquitoes, flies, bees, wasps and ants. Sometimes they will even eat butterflies.

They lay their eggs in plant stems rotting wood or wet soil.

When a pool has gone green then all kinds of creatures will find a home in the water every thing from mosquito larvae to tadpoles. It is also a far more dangerous situation because should a child fall into the water. the time spent looking and not being able to locate may be just enough to mean the difference between a successful rescue and a brain damaged or dead child.

Fish eggs are not eaten by dragonfly larvae. Dragonfly larvae eat small fish, very small fish and tadpoles. They do not eat fish larvae. A lot of fish eat the larvae out of there own nests.

Well, the closest you shall get to is the Bearded Dragon found in China and that region.

There is also a dragon-like lizard called a Komodo Dragon.

A dragon flies almost like a bat or bird flies. they have mustles, bones, and flaps of skin on their wings to propel them trough the air. some dragons have feathers (that makes them fly exactly like a bird). They use their tails and heads as rudders to help them turn with pin-point acuracy. most Earth, Nature, and Water dragons can't fly or don't have wings.

Yes, dragonflies are a known lucky symbol in lots of Eastern cultures.

There is no specific direction, it is the same way the bird would land.
